Magic: The Gathering Schedule For November 2023


DESCRIPTION

ComicReaders Downtown has a full slate of Magic: The Gathering events in November, including Lost Caverns of Ixalan Pre-releases, Regional Championship Qualifier, Commander, Modern, and Legacy.

Each event is limited to 24 people.

Pre-registration is required to ensure your spot. These event are promoted on the MTG Regina Facebook Group. All players MUST register using the Magic Companion app. Registration codes for each event are listed below. Use those codes to register for the events. Do not respond to this post to register for the event. Do not assume you can walk into the store the day of the event to register.

A list of registered players will not be included on SaskGames, but we will do our best to update the post when events are full.

EVENT DATES AND TIMES

Lost Caverns of Ixalan Pre-release
Pre-release events give players an opportunity to play the newest release of Magic: The Gathering before it is widely available in the market. Each pre-release event is a Sealed deck event. Details about the Sealed format can be found on this official Wizards of the Coast page. These event are a swiss-style tournament.
Prizes: 1 pack per win. Players that go undefeated for the entire event will get an additional 2 packs.

The Regional Championship Qualifier is going to be Sealed format used Lost Caverns of Ixalan. Details about the Sealed format can be found on this official Wizards of the Coast page. This event is a swiss-style tournament.

Legacy Night
Our Legacy events are a swiss-style tournament. Details about the Legacy format can be found on this official Wizards of the Coast page.
Prizes: Winning records get you store credit that can be used to purchase MTG singles.

Commander Night
Our Commander nights are a night of casual play. This is not a tournament format event. Players are encouraged to bring decks of different styles and competitive strength. Players will organize themselves into multiplayer games. Details about the Commander format can be found on this official Wizards of the Coast page.
Prizes: There are no prizes but each player can choose one MTG promo card from our selection.

Friday Night Magic: Modern
Friday Night Magic is Modern format. Details about the Modern format can be found on this official Wizards of the Coast page. This event is a swiss-style tournament.
Prizes: A winning record wins you draft boosters of the most current Magic: The Gathering release.

PANDEMIC PROTOCOLS
Non-medical masks will be voluntary for events at ComicReaders Downtown. We encourage people to make informed decisions and protect themselves and fellow players as regularly as possible. We won't be requiring people to leave behind contact info in case someone gets sick. We're going to leave those decisions to the players. We will revisit this policy should the change negatively impact event attendance or negatively impact the health of players participating in events. Related, you can now have drinks and snacks at events.
