I've been released from quarantine... and it's time for tea - and some Pennsylvania Dutch!

First up is Darjeeling, a neat game from 2007 that is quite fun.  Harvest different varieties of tea, and try to meet overseas demand before your opponent does!  The mechanics are simple but the game is deeply strategic.  I quite like it.

Next up is Dutch Blitz, which is as unstrategic a game as I've ever brought but it's a blast.  Build public tableaux in order and colour - and score for every card you play.  However, the first to play a card gets their card counted but now their opponents need the next card for the tableau!  It's highly competitive and anticipatory, as you try to play all your cards.  It's fast, it's slightly obnoxious, and it's a blast.  Normally thge game is only good for 4 but I have the blue-box expansion so we can play as many as 8 if we need.  If you've never tried it you should give it a shot.  It's a great game to take out for your non-gamer friends.

Last up is Yunnan, which is probably the most strategic game I've brought.  No randomness here - it's all strategy.  Build your tea routes to the far tea provinces with the higher quality tea - but don't gather too much attention or the tea inspector will come and bounce your delivery people closer to home.  (Then again, you could bribe him to do that to one of your opponents instead...)  It's a lot of fun.  If you prefer strategic eurogames and like the idea of area control plus worker placement via auction, you'll surely like this.  It's one of my favourites.
Avidly gaming since 1972.
