SEPTEMBER 2022 GAMING SCHEDULE AT COMICREADERS DOWNTOWN


DESCRIPTION
In-store gaming events have returned to ComicReaders Downtown.

All listed events are limited to 16 people maximum. Some events may be restricted to less players based on the structure of the event itself. In these instances, the player maximum will be listed with the event.

Non-medical masks will be voluntary for events at ComicReaders Downtown. We encourage people to make informed decisions and protect themselves and fellow players as regularly as possible. We won't be requiring people to leave behind contact info in case someone gets sick. We're going to leave those decisions to the players. We will revisit this policy should the change negatively impact event attendance or negatively impact the health of players participating in events. Related, food and non-alcoholic drink is allowed.

Pre-registration is required for all events to ensure your spot. Do not assume you can walk into the store the day of the event to register.

To register in advance, respond to this post and quote the event for which you are registering, call the store at 306-779-0900, or email the store at downtown@comicreaders.com.

Also, please note, many of these events are promoted on the Facebook groups of the player communities and those players can register for events by responding to our posts on those communities.

Some events have specific registration requirements and those will be shared in the event schedule.

Player lists will not be included on SaskGames, but we will do our best to post when events are full.

EVENT SCHEDULE DATE & TIME

MAGIC THE GATHERING

Pre-registration is required for all MTG events at ComicReaders Downtown. You also need a Wizards of the Coast account-- such as a MTG Arena account-- to pre-register and to attend a MTG event at ComicReaders Downtown. This is required because ComicReaders Downtown is a Wizards Play Network store. Download the Magic Companion App and use the codes below to pre-register for the events you are attending. If you have a Wizards of the Coast account but don't have access to the Magic Companion App, you can call the store at 306-779-0900 and pre-register with the email address associated with your account.

Dominaria United Pre-release: Sealed THIS EVENT IS FULL. NO MORE REGISTRATIONS BEING TAKEN.
September 2.
6:30pm start. Ends approximately 10:30pm.
$35 entry fee.
Players receive packs of Dominaria United and build their decks from those packs. Bring your own land or borrow some of ours.
This is a Swiss-style tournament.
Players have a chance to win Dominaria United packs.
Please note that ComicReaders Downtown is able to sell a limited number of Draft booster boxes and Set booster boxes during this event.

Players receive packs of Dominaria United and build their decks from those packs. Bring your own land or borrow some of ours.

Please note that ComicReaders Downtown is able to sell a limited number of Draft booster boxes and Set booster boxes during this event.

Legacy Night
Most Wednesday nights are Legacy nights at ComicReaders Downtown.
Each event begins at 6:00pm and ends at 9:00pm.
Each event has a $5 table fee.
Each player gets to choose a promo card / pack while supplies last.
These are a Swiss-style tournament. Players can win store credit toward the purchase of MTG singles.

Commander Night
Most Thursday nights are Commander nights at ComicReaders Downtown.
Each Commander event begins at 6:00pm and ends at 9:00pm.
Each Commander event has a $5 table fee.
Each player gets to choose a promo card / pack while supplies last.
These are casual events. These are not tournaments.

These are Swiss-style tournaments. Players can win packs of MTG.

These are Swiss-style tournaments. Players can win packs of MTG.

Players receive packs of Dominaria United and engage in a draft. After the draft, we run a Swiss-style tournament.
Players have a chance to win Dominaria United packs.

YU-GI-OH

Sunday, September 18
Start: 12:00pm
End: 4:45pm
Table Fee: $5
This is a Back to Duel event.
Each player receives an OTS pack.
The winner of the tournament receives a YU-Gi-Oh playmat.
A second playmat is given to a random player.

Thursday, September 29
Start: 6:00pm
End: 9:00pm-ish
Table Fee: $5
This is a Locals event.
Each player receives a OTS pack.

CARDFIGHT VANGUARD

Saturday, September 10
Start: 12:00pm
End: 5:30pm
Table Fee: $5
This event is a Standard event.
This is a Swiss-style event.
Players get a promo card and a tournament pack as supplied by Bushiroad.

Pre-registration is not required for this event but it is encouraged. The GM(s) for Starfinder RPG have their own means for contacting existing players to tell them about sessions at ComicReaders Downtown, but new / returning players are welcome.
