I'll be bringing out Egizia for when Carc is done, so we'll say 9:00. (If interested parties are available sooner we can start sooner) 4 players total, shouldn't be much more than an hour *with* explanation.
Got a request for a game, check out this link right here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/t_shak I'd be more than glad to bring any of these out to play.

I'm bringing out Reiner Knizia's Colossal Arena to start the night. It's a betting/hand management game where different mythical monsters are pitted against each other in battle. Each player has a hand of numbered monster cards that also have variable powers and they have to play one each round (though you might play more if you're messing with other players). You're trying to guide each round so that the monsters you bet on (either openly or secretly) stay in and other monsters get eliminated.

I'll teach it to start so all are welcome to give it a try. The box says 40-60min and the game's pretty easy to pick up so it'll be around 60min+.

Continuing on with the monster theme, I'm also bringing out King of New York. Chuck dice, beat up other monsters, stomp tanks, smash buildings and become the most famous monster in New York. The winner is either the last monster standing or the first to 20VP.
If you've played King of Tokyo you have the right idea but it has enough added & changed to make for a different playing experience (it's usually described as the "gamer version" of KOT).

Easy to learn, quick to play. Even with teaching to start it'll probably take less than an hour.

One more to end the night - I'll bring out the new game Deus again because I had so much fun playing it at the previous Chewsday Challenge. Each player works to expand their ancient (vaguely-Roman) empire across the modular board to get the most victory points. You can only do one of two actions each turn: build a structure by paying the cost & playing a card or make an offering to one of the gods by discarding cards for the god's powers. If you build a structure, you also get to trigger the effects of the card associated with it. The trick is that you can only re-trigger a card's effects if you build another structure of the same type or build a different building that specifically triggers it.

It's medium-to-heavy weight and seems a little complex to start but once you get into the game it goes fairly quick. With teaching I'd put it at 90-120min.

START TIME: 9:00
DURATION: 90-120min
