Tempest

In King of Tokyo, you play mutant monsters, gigantic robots, and strange aliens – all of whom are destroying Tokyo and whacking each other in order to become the one and only King of Tokyo.

At the start of each turn, you roll six dice. The dice show the following six symbols: 1, 2 or 3 Victory Points, Energy, Heal and Attack. Over three successive throws, choose whether to keep or discard each die in order to win victory points, gain energy, restore health, or attack other players into understanding that Tokyo is YOUR territory.

The fiercest player will occupy Tokyo, and earn extra victory points, but that player can't heal and must fact all the other monsters alone!

Top this off with special cards purchased with energy that have a permanent or temporary effect, such as the growing of a second head which grants you an additional die, body armor, nova death ray, and more.... and it's one of the most explosive games of the year!

In order to win the game, one must either destroy Tokyo by accumulating 20 victory points, or be the only surviving monster once the fighting has ended.
Got a request for a game, check out this link right here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/t_shak I'd be more than glad to bring any of these out to play.

(1) The one year birthday celebration was a huge success. We even had birthday cake. Tom brought a birthday card which seemed to really be the appropriate icing to a great 1st year celebration.

(2) The article in QC Magazine went online and did a wonderful job of capturing the essence of our event. The article can be found online by clicking HERE

(3) It was announced that ChewsDay Challenge is creating a game bag to bring to the event of gateway games to be used as a library of games for ambassadors or attendees to play. Chad Boudreau (ComicReaders Downtown) and Matt Robertson have donated games so far. A detailed posting / thread will be created in the days ahead that outlines the contents of this "Ambassador Game Kit".

(4) In celebration of our first birthday for ChewsDay Challenge, Dana Tillusz (ComicReaders South) gave away three games at the event. They were randomly given to attendees based on the log book for attendance. Thanks ComicReaders!!
...Deb Banks won Pandemic
...Guy Ouellette won King of Tokyo
...Matt Robertson won Settlers of Catan

(5) The 24 Hours to Play with Your Food event is coming up quick and participants brought in their pledge sheets with money to give to the event treasurer, Kathy Lewis. Looks like we are raising a lot of money for Souls Harbour Rescue Mission. Gamers are AWESOME!
