*** ChewsDay Challenge ***

What: The ChewsDay Challenge series of events is part of an initiative to host a public weekly game night that is welcoming to new members and is a way for people new to boardgames to experience a beginner friendly atmosphere. A opportunity for people new to designer board games or veterans of the hobby to come out, meet 'n' greet, and play some games.   This is held at a great location with full food and beverage service. Come on out and try some games.

The venue is also a great place for Wargamers and Strategy Gamers to come out and play a game. There are some titles that are hard to get to the table, let's try to get them the attention they deserve at a ChewsDay Challenge.

Where: North Albert St. Boston Pizza (Regina)

When: Every ChewsDay night of course, see date on this post for this particular event.

Who: Anyone interested in playing boardgames. The venue is suitable for many different styles of games: (Wargames, Euro Games, Crokinole, Chess, Go, Scrabble, Backgammon, etc.)

Why: Life is Short; Play Games!

Although not necessary, we urge you to post in this thread if you are coming and what games you might bring or would like to play. Prearranging some games helps get some of the harder titles to the table. Perhaps you have seen someone post about a game in THIS THREAD, this might be an opportunity to get them to bring out the game and show you.

If you are new to the gaming scene in the City of Regina, come on out and meet some others. Feel free to come a bit early and grab a bite to eat. See you there!!!  :excited

Every ChewsDay Challenge, we will have a Game Host on site to teach a game. This is a great way for new players to experience a game in a beginner friendly environment. The Weekly Game will be set up at 6:15pm and players are urged to be there for 6:30. The feature game will start at 6:45pm. Note: A number of us go early (5ish) to grab a bite to eat, you are welcome to join us.

Without further adieu, here is the Game Host of the week:

I've decided to demo Urbania instead of D-Day dice, because I just haven't had a chance to get D-Day to the table and learn it myself.

Snikt!

LoganD

Throw Logan onto the list for the feature game....and also maybe a Tichu game if there is one after.....

I will be bringing a few of my favorites that need more playtime.

Conquest of Planet Earth: the Space Alien Game
Vikings and
Diamonds Club

Hopefully I can get at least one of these in.

QuoteConquest of Planet Earth: the Space Alien Game

I'd be interested in playing this. I was, in fact, thinking of bringing Last Night on Earth: Invasion from Outer Space, but I would take a rain check on that to play Conquest of Planet Earth.

Colin Dearborn

Sounds great Chad. We have room for up to 2 more. The game can be either played competitive or co-op. I have only played competitive so far, but I will go through the co-op rules just in case we want to give that a spin. Either one goes from 30-90 the box says, but I have never had a game go over an hour.

Bix Conners

I am in for a competitive game of Conquest of Planet Earth. I was going to play Conquest of Paradise with Jamie Shanks but I am not sure if he will be in attendance or not yet.

Barring any fatal distractions, I'll be there this Tuesday, same time, around 6:30-ish. As usual, I'll be bringing Smallworld and Formula D (they're probably my favourites out of my tiny tiny boardgame collection, so...) If people are interested, I'd like to run a game of Formula D using the street race rules; it's an interesting variant that adds some extra options that I think seasoned vets and newcomers to the game alike would find interesting.
Got a request for a game, check out this link right here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/t_shak I'd be more than glad to bring any of these out to play.

ChadBoudreau

Well, I'm in for Conquest of the Planet Earth for sure. Co-op or competitive is fine for me.
From my own collection, I will be bring Pandemic and Scotland Yard-- two favs I don't get to play enough.
And Snake Oil just in case...

hokster

Put me down for the feature game.  I'd like to try that out.

I'll bring Seasons, Vasco de Gama, Core World, in case anyone wants to play.
