Lorcana Schedule For July 2024

DESCRIPTION
ComicReaders Downtown will be hosting two Lorcana events.

For the month of July, there will be a casual format and a set championship constructed tournament format.

Casual format will be constructed play (bring your deck). Casual will be sit down and play with 1 or many other opponents.

Set Championship tournament format will be:
Structure (if 17-32 players):
- 1v1 best of 2
- 5 round swiss, with a cut to Top 8
- 55 minutes rounds
- Top 8 matches are 70 minutes, best of 3
- During the Top 8, the higher seed gets the option to play or draw
- Final round is untimed

Structure (If 9-16 players):
- 1v1 best of 2
- 4 round swiss, with a cut to Top 4
- 55 minutes rounds
- Top 4 matches are 70 minutes, best of 3
- During the Top 4, the higher seed gets the option to play or draw
- Final round is untimed

- Players are to keep the same deck throughout the tournament.
- Players are encouraged to keep track of their own and opponent's lore total so there are no discrepancies.
- No note taking other than lore totals
- Decklists are not required but encouraged, but I would like the Top 4/8 decklists so I can post them up at the end of the tournament 🙂

Each event is limited to 16 people. Please note that limits can be raised if there is enough time, space and demand.

Pre-registration is required to ensure your spot. This event is promoted on the Disney Lorcana Regina Page. All participants are encouraged to register in advance by signing up on melee.gg (links will be provided below). Please do not respond to this post to register for the event. Please do not assume you can walk into the store the day of the event to register. If you find that you cannot attend the event, you can unenroll on the melee.gg site, or contact ComicReaders Downtown to let them know you can no longer attend.

A list of registered players will not be included on SaskGames, but we will do our best to update the post when events are full.

Prizes:
Casual: participants' names will go into a draw for a chance to receive a pin or lore counter. The rest of the participants will receive the promo card that is listed with the event. Please note, a participant can only receive 1 item per event.

Championship:
Prizes of Ursula's Return packs will be awarded to winning records before the cut to Top 4/8:
35 points: 8 packs
31-34 points: 7 packs
28-30 points: 6 packs
24-27 points: 5 packs
21-23 points: 4 packs
20 points: 3 packs

After the cut to Top 4/8:
Winner will receive the Champion playmat.
Runner-up will receive the same playmat without the Champion stamp.
All Top 4 players will receive the Ursula Sea Witch Queen Promo Card.
All Top 8 players will receive an Alice in Wonderland deck box.

July 6th the promo card will be Mickey Mouse (Leader of the Band)

July 20th the promo card will be Hidden Inkcaster

Any leftover promo cards, pins and lore counters will go towards a future event.

PANDEMIC PROTOCOLS
Non-medical masks will be voluntary for events at ComicReaders Downtown. We encourage people to make informed decisions and protect themselves and fellow players as regularly as possible. We won't be requiring people to leave behind contact info in case someone gets sick. We're going to leave those decisions to the players. We will revisit this policy should the change negatively impact event attendance or negatively impact the health of players participating in events. Related, you can now have drinks and snacks at events.
