Magic the Gathering: Casual Play June 2016 Schedule


DESCRIPTION
An opportunity for players of various skill levels to play in a low stress/non-competitive environment. New players, or people that are interested in learning how to play are welcome. If there is enough interest to learn how to play in a limited format then a sealed will be run with instructions to help out learn skills to help with any future prereleases a player may want to attend.

Each week will have a different format of play, including but not limited to: Commander, Archenemy, Cube Draft etc.

Organizers will have extra decks on hand in case newcomers would like to come and learn how to play but do not possess any cards of their own.

The following formats will be played in June:
Commander is played every other week, for general rules for Commander in regards to deck construction please check this link: http://magic.wizards.com/en/gameinfo/gameplay/formats/commander.

(Silly) Stipulation Cube Draft is a way to draft in a stress free way. Drafts typically require a lot of homework of knowing what is in the set but a stipulation will dictate how a player must try to fulfill a set of criteria for a booster pack. Our stipulations are not super serious, some require to look at artwork or a certain type of card. Our cube is not a typical cube either, the cards are from Conspiracy, Modern Masters and Modern Masters 2015. Note: This format is semi-limited, we prepare for 10, but you must let Lareina know that you are interested in coming to play.

Tiny Leaders is a smaller version of Commander designed to be played one vs one. Players have 49 cards in their deck, and their Commander outside of the deck for a total of 50 cards. Please check the link for rules.

Peasant is a regular 60 card deck with one major restriction, no rares or mythics are allowed to be used. The deck must comprise a mixture of Commons and Uncommons within the Standard format.

DATE & TIME
Casual Play for Magic the Gathering will run every Wednesday @ 7pm until after close (it can run until around 10pm as long as a staff member is participating)
June 1: Peasant (standard legal)
June 8: Commander
June 15: Tiny Leaders
June 22: Commander
June 29: Stipulation Cube Draft (Note: This format is semi-limited, we prepare for 10, but you must let Lareina know that you are interested in coming to play)

EVENT ATTENDANCE LIMITS
There is no player maximum, there is a soft cap on Stipulation Cube Draft, you must let Lareina know that you are coming to play before the Wednesday scheduled for preparation.

I apologize, I just realized that I had written Pauper for tonight's format, when I meant Peasant the whole time. If you only made your deck with commons then kudos! But you are allowed to use uncommons as well in the deck.

I do have 8 players confirmed for the cube draft already, if you would like to join on the 29th, then please let me know by this Monday so then I can prepare for it. If we get enough people then we'll break into 2 pods.
