Lorcana Schedule For October 2024

DESCRIPTION
ComicReaders Downtown will be hosting two Lorcana events.

Constructed tournament format will be 1v1, 2 game format, 45 minutes, 3 rounds of Swiss play.

Set Championship tournament format will be:
Structure (if 17-32 players):
- 1v1 2 game format
- 5 round swiss, with a cut to Top 8
- 45 minutes rounds
- Top 8 matches are 70 minutes, best of 3
- During the Top 8, the higher seed gets the option to play or draw
- Final round is untimed

Structure (If 9-16 players):
- 1v1 2 game format
- 4 round swiss, with a cut to Top 4
- 45 minutes rounds
- Top 4 matches are 70 minutes, best of 3
- During the Top 4, the higher seed gets the option to play or draw
- Final round is untimed

- Players are to keep the same deck throughout the tournament.
- Players are encouraged to keep track of their own and opponent's lore total so there are no discrepancies.
- No note taking other than lore totals
- Decklists are not required but encouraged, but I would like the Top 4/8 decklists so I can post them up at the end of the tournament 🙂

Each event is limited to 16 people. Please note that limits can be raised if there is enough time, space and demand.

Pre-registration is required to ensure your spot. This event is promoted on the Disney Lorcana Regina Page. All participants are encouraged to register in advance by signing up on melee.gg (links will be provided below). Please do not respond to this post to register for the event. Please do not assume you can walk into the store the day of the event to register. If you find that you cannot attend the event, you can unenroll on the melee.gg site, or contact ComicReaders Downtown to let them know you can no longer attend.

A list of registered players will not be included on SaskGames, but we will do our best to update the post when events are full.

Player Cap: 32

Prizes:
For constructed tournament format days: participants with 21 points will receive their choice of promo item. In addition, participants with 21 points will receive 4 packs, 17-20 points will receive 3 packs and 14-16 points will receive 2 packs. The rest of the promo items will be given out via draw. The rest of the participants will receive the promo card that is listed with the event. Please note, a participant can only receive 1 special promo item per event.

Championship:
Prizes of Shimmering Skies packs will be awarded to winning records before the cut to Top 4/8:
35 points: 8 packs
31-34 points: 7 packs
28-30 points: 6 packs
24-27 points: 5 packs
21-23 points: 4 packs
20 points: 3 packs

After the cut to Top 4/8:
Winner will receive the Champion playmat.
Runner-up will receive the same playmat without the Champion stamp.
All Top 8 players will receive the Mirabel Madrigal Promo Card.

October 19th the promo card will be Nala.

October 26th the promo card will be a choice from previous promo cards.

Any leftover promo cards, pins and lore counters will go towards a future event.

PANDEMIC PROTOCOLS
Non-medical masks will be voluntary for events at ComicReaders Downtown. We encourage people to make informed decisions and protect themselves and fellow players as regularly as possible. We won't be requiring people to leave behind contact info in case someone gets sick. We're going to leave those decisions to the players. We will revisit this policy should the change negatively impact event attendance or negatively impact the health of players participating in events. Related, you can now have drinks and snacks at events.
