DESCRIPTION
The Theros Beyond Death Prerelease gives players their first opportunity to play with Theros Beyond Death cards. 

Please note: There will be a TBD player cap on this event

Special note: We cannot run our usual morning event due to a major Keyforge event also happening the same day

DATE & TIME
Each PreRelease event will end after 4 Rounds, regardless of the number of players involved. This helps prevent player burnout, but also allows us to set a schedule for each pre-release event. That said, there are other factors that influence the length of a prerelease event. Therefore, the schedule you see below is tentative and is subject to change.

Theros Beyond Death Draft Weekend *Magic: The Gathering*

DESCRIPTION
To celebrate the release of Theros Beyond Death, ComicReaders Downtown is holding a Draft Weekend on January 25th and January 26th

Drafting is a great way to learn to play competitive Magic without needing to have a large collection, and a great way to acquire new cards. We always draft with the most recent set. Drafts will now be a maximum of 3 rounds, and there will be no pod mixture if there are multiple drafting pods.

Players with a winning record will receive packs of the latest Magic release as prizes, the prize structure is as follows:
3 wins will payout 4 packs
2 wins 1 draw will payout 3 packs
2 wins will payout 2 packs

Promo Pack distribution: TBD

Sunday Magic at ComicReaders Downtown is now Draft unless there is a Prerelease.

DESCRIPTION

The Regina MTG community has asked so ComicReaders Downtown is running a Commander night on Thursday nights

Commander is a format where players construct 100-card decks, with each card except basic lands appearing no more than once. The format is primarily played with four players, each with their own deck.

This is intended to be a fun, casual night of Commander.

As long as we have at least 6 players to run the event, 1st place will receive a regular promo pack (Throne of Eldraine) and a random player will receive a promo pack (Core set 2020).

The format for FNM at ComicReaders will be both Pioneer/Standard and Modern. We will be alternating between Standard and Pioneer for the next while, please refer to the schedule below to see when Pioneer will be held and when Standard will be held.

Play begins for Pioneer at 6pm. We will now run 4 rounds as a maximum even if we have more than 16 players.

Players with a winning record will receive packs of the latest Magic release as prizes. We will now be using a structured payout system.

4 wins will payout 8 packs
3 wins 1 draw will payout 6 packs
3 wins will payout 4 packs
2 wins 1 draw will payout 2 packs
2 wins 1 draw will payout 3 packs (only if there are 3 rounds)
