Sorry silent_rob and all - kids were sent home sick today so I'm on dad duty tonight. Hope to join a future game of Letters from Whitechapel!

As previously requested in the "what would you like to play" thread...
GAME TITLE: Shogun
TEACHER: RTigger
START TIME: 8:15 PM
DURATION: 1h30m (going to play a short version)
# OF PLAYERS: 3 to 5
URL: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/20551/shogun
Shogun is a war/euro game with elements of bluffing and auction where you control of the 5 warring states trying to gain control of Japan in the 1500's. The core of the game is area control, but this is achieved by misdirecting your opponents with unpredictable actions and winning battles via the ominous Battle Tower - instead of rolling dice until a victor is declared, your troops along with your enemy's troops are added to a dice tower; whoever has the most troops come out the other side is the victor. This makes for a really interesting euro game with war elements where each battle is a nail-biter that could go either way, regardless of the number of troops you may have.
We'll be playing one year (as opposed to the standard two) so we can get through it in a decent time and so everyone can learn the game.

Re: early start thread, I often can't get away until the kids are in bed, so 8 is often the earliest I can get down to BPS unfortunately.

Sorry, I'm going to have to pull Space Cadets for tomorrow night - had some work come up. I'll be there on March 9th with Shogun though

I could run a game of dead of winter instead of space cadets since no one seems to want to join that... would you be down for a 8:30 start?
