Looks like it is going to be a bit of an RPG night at Chewsday Challenge. I'm running a session of D&D Expeditions. The player slot are already full but feel free to drop by the table if you are at all curious about 5th Edition D&D.

And Paranoia next week too!

A fun night!  Thanks to Amay and DCStyles for helping me to learn Twilight Struggle, and thanks to silent_rob for his really fun assortment of gem-related games.  The Gem-Encrusted "Trophy" will make a return appearance...

I for one would probably join in a V:tM one-shot game if it were on a night I could attend.

I'm not familiar, alas, with any of the other games you've listed.

And just to make things clear, I've opted out of the two-player Twilight Struggle game and will go into the 1-tutorial instead.  I'll watch the active TS game after the tutorial until Rob's gem ensemble begins.

Hey PhotoJim, you can play the gem game if you only want to attend the Twilight Struggle tutorial and not play a full game.  I'm sure someone else would be interested in a whole game.

OK, let's do that then.  I'll watch the game in progress until 8:30 to get the gist of it.  Perhaps we can have some more games of it soon? :)

Rob, sign me up for your gems tour at 8:30 then.

Thanks!

I guess I'd better bow out of your mini-tourney, Rob, apologies... I didn't realize Twilight Struggle was scheduled for 3 hours.

Rob, I'm in :) I was going to talk Lori into bringing Splendor, so you solved the problem!

2 players for Paranoia... room for 4 more.  Beginners to RPGing welcome.  Just understand that this isn't a serious game like D&D.  :)

I'll pick a scenario over the weekend and can give a little more direction.  I'll provide pregenerated characters to increase the amount of time everyone actually has to play.  Expect about 15-20 minutes for orientation with the game (including a couple of minutes with each player to explain the main aspects of their character).

There's no need to study in advance about how to play Paranoia - just think of worlds like Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, 1984 and Brazil and add in a little Spaceballs humour.  It's dystopian, but it's FUN dystopian!  In fact, knowing little about the game when you play enhances the fun (in my opinion).

Anyone interested in learning how to play Twilight Struggle this week?  I've been itching to play again since the upcoming league has been announced.

Haven't played, but own the game and would be interested.

I have never played an RPG but I have been dying to try and this sounds like one I would like

As long as you understand what serious roleplaying would be like you'll understand the humour in Paranoia.  Shall we slot you in?
