I'm not familiar with wraiths, but a pistol only counts as a single combat weapon - you need another form of one-handed, non-specialist close combat weapon to get the +1 attack.  It may not be listed as a "close combat weapon" specifically - tyranids have pairs of claws for example.

Sounds good Matt.  I'll be bringing Avalon along tonight, it's similar to werewolf but typically for smaller groups.  I'll run that for them if nobody is doing werewolf.  I'll definitely point them in your direction to talk about potential future Ohanlons event(s).

A couple friends of mine are going to try and make it out tonight around 7pm and were wondering if anyone would be interested/willing to run a game of werewolf for them to join.  I'll be bringing some other games for them to play with us if there isn't, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask in advance if there'd be interest.  I'm unfortunately not comfortable enough with the game to run it or I would volunteer.

For anyone participating in the 500 pt tournament at PGX, if possible please send me a PM or email at smith28c@gmail.com with your army list so that I can check it in advance - the last thing anyone wants is to show up with a list and realize they missed one of the special restrictions.

I'll be joining in on the action if an odd number of players sign up, so for full disclosure here's the list I'll be bringing along (I'm not going to change what I'm taking after seeing someone's list):

10 Dire Avengers w/ Exarch equipped w/ power sword and shimmer shield.
9   Dire Avengers w/ Exarch equipped w/ power sword and shimmer shield.
5   Rangers
1   Nightspinner w/ Holo-fields
497 Points

Tournament was loads of fun.  Thanks to everyone for coming out and making it such an enjoyable event again.  Also thanks to Lareina for volunteering her day to organize everything and take pictures.  Looking forward to seeing them once they're posted.

Round 1 was vs Mark's Chaos - a back and forth bloodbath that could have gone either way had it not been for Blood and Glory.  Screaming at a squad with double Doom & Darkness and an Aura of Dark Majesty nearby (-7 Ld total) with a BSB and banner in it was the anti-climactic finish to this game.

Round 2 was against Allan's High Elves.  Could've been a totally different game had we gotten a few more turns in.  When time was called he had just managed to kill my dragon, but the lord remained intact.  The varghulf held his own for once against a couple smaller cav squads while the vargheists and terrorgheists killed a couple core squads and his icy phoenix.

Round 3 was against Justin's Bretonnian champions in one of the most heart-pounding, back and forth matches I've ever played.  Absolutely everything seemed like a critical moment right from turn one where I made my lord's 4+ ward against a trebuchet's boulder.  In the end it was meant to be a Breton victory as Justin destroyed an entire squad of vargheists with a single lightning bolt! (d6 str6 hits + d6 str4 hits and he dealt 9 wounds), I failed to cast a healing spell on 6 dice!, and Justin made round after round after round of 5+ armour/ward saves on his unkillable grail knights.  Had those last 3 models actually died, we would've tied by 3 points!
Seeing Justin refuse to roll below a 4 for the last turn and a half was a little frustrating, but still a fantastic finish where every dice was rolled with our breaths held, hoping the scales would tip just that LITTLE bit in our favour.

Congrats again to Justin for coming in first, and to Rob and Mark for winning best painted and sportsmanship.

I did the same thing to my old Eldar blobs that I painted horrendously back in elementary school.  Except I used Castrol engine degreaser I believe?  It's in a purple jug at Canadian Tire for pretty cheap.  After soaking for a day or two the paint practically slid right off when I scrubbed them with a toothbrush.  Works on plastic or metal and took varnish off as well as my thick paint job - doesn't eat the glue either!  Just make sure you wear gloves!

Rob - you'd think if they knew how to put one back together after it exploded that they'd be able to reverse-engineer it and make a new one... since it explodes anyway they can't be worried about taking it apart and not being able to re-build it.  Maybe some specific parts don't explode that they don't know how to make?  :confused  Cool story anyway!

... lets just say that steam Tank got a bit of an overhaul.

You put its wheel back on!?   :neener

I'm quite certain I won't be anywhere near done painting everything, but I'm really hoping I'll have time to finish my lord at least.  Looking forward to seeing everyone's armies on the 20th.  Best painted is always a tough decision.

Yup they can.  I'm also probably going to have to throw a BSB banner somewhere even though I don't have to take leadership for anything... I guess my frenzy checks for the vargheists?  And it'll potentially lower crumble results by 1 each time... might end up being worth the 25 points for at least 1/3 games?

Looking forward to the tournament!  I'm curious to see if having all the flying things will help or hinder me on Battle for the Pass.  Also really hoping to have at least my centerpieces painted before then.  Something tells me I won't finish the 20-40 ghouls though...
