Public Events - Feature Friday - Regina / Feature Friday - Southside Pentecostal Assembly - Friday, April 18, 2025 *CANCELLED*
April 06, 2025, 09:27:08 PM
***CANCELLED***
Unfortunately, there is a scheduling conflict this Friday, and the games evening is not going be able to proceed (someone has get the short end of the stick). There isn't an opportunity to re-schedule this month, so the only remaining option is to look forward to next month. Too bad. I was really looking forward to the Feature Game.

Hi all,
April is the sweet month of promise!! The root of April is found in Latin and means "to open." And this month its time to open up the Feature Game to a new game, Burning Banners.
Burning Banners is a fantasy war game for 2 to 6 players set in the land of Kheros. March armies and heroes through a huge, lovingly detailed map. Explore a vast, detailed fantasy world encompassing six unique kingdoms and dozens of troop types. This game updates the classic hex-&-counter map mechanic for a modern audience.
Of course, as always, there will be many other games available to be played.
!!! If you have a game you'd like to play and draw some attention to, feel free to volunteer for future Feature Game slots. Just drop me a note at feature_friday@hotmail.com.
Feature Friday meets at Southside Pentecostal Assembly (41 Birchwood Rd) from 7pm to midnight. There is parking and an entrance at the back of the building. A snack table will be set up so feel free to contribute a drink or something to munch on. And feel free to bring along friends (and to forward this invite).
Hope you'll be there,
Allan

Hi all,
March is here and, along with it, the warm air of spring is blowing. It's the time of newness, optimism and, if your were a Roman, war. On that theme of impending battle, our Feature Game will take us back to ancient Egypt.
In Kemet: Blood and Sand, the deities of the Nile cities venture forth with their troops and supernatural denizens to out maneuver and dominate their rivals for Egyptian supremacy. Gather strength and influence through winning attacks, controlling temples, controlling fully-developed pyramids, sacrificing to the gods, and wielding particular magical powers to become the leading power in humanity's first great empire.
Of course, as always, there will be many other games available to be played.
!!! If you have a game you'd like to play and draw some attention to, feel free to volunteer for future Feature Game slots. Just drop me a note at feature_friday@hotmail.com.

Hi all,
March, the 1st month of the Romans, will soon be here (crazy, huh!?). In keeping with it being when Rome's legions would begin campaigning, we have traditionally hosted a game with a military theme. If you have a game that you'd like to play that might hit that motif, drop me a note and we'll see if we can't feature it next month.
That all said, the Feature Game for February will explore an imagined reality in which civilization has collapsed. Following an unnamed apocalypse, the city of Euphoria has managed reestablish a facsimile of the forgotten times. It now seeks to prevent another apocalypse by engineering a new world order. However, there are three other factions who also seek to shape the reclaiming of civilization lost.
In the game of Euphoria, you lead a team of workers (dice) and recruits (cards) to claim ownership of the dystopian world. You will generate commodities, dig tunnels to infiltrate opposing areas, construct markets, collect artifacts, strengthen allegiances, and fulfill secret agendas. Euphoria is a worker-placement game in which dice are your workers. The number on each die represents a worker's knowledge—that is, his level of awareness that he's in a dystopia. A smart worker is a capable worker. But if the collective knowledge of all of your available workers gets too high, one of them might desert you. Four distinct societies, each of them waiting for you to write a new history. What are you willing to sacrifice to build a better dystopia?
[fyi - for the boardgame nerds, this is a Jamey Stegmaier game, the designer of other games like: Scythe, Viticulture and Tapestry]
Of course, as always, there will be many other games available to be played.

Hi everyone,
Welcome to the new year. Already 2025 is shaping up to be a wild one.
Staying with the theme of chaotic craziness, the first Feature Game of the new year will be a return to Thunder Road Vendetta. It's a smash-up derby Mad Max style now expanded to play up to 6. Players will attempt to out-race, out-last, and out-luck their opponents in a race across a dystopian landscape. Cars careen, cars shoot, cars crash, cars launch, and you'll have a great time laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. The rules are easy - roll the dice and do what they say. It'll be a road race full of furious action.
Of course, as always, there will be many other games available to be played.

Hi all,
The Holiday month is here with all the events and activities associated it like family get togethers, Christmas parties, and good eating. It's also the last opportunity to squeeze in one more games evening together before the new year.
For December, our feature game will be La Granja. Players will seek to control small farms on the island of Mallorca. Over time, players will expand their farm by adding fields, farm extensions, market barrows, and helpers. They will earn VPs by delivering goods to the village of Esporles. Players are vying to earn the title of "La Granja" for their country estate!
Of course, as always, there will also be many other games available to be played.
!!! If you have a game you'd like to play and draw some attention to, feel free to volunteer for future Feature Game slots. Just drop me a note at feature_friday@hotmail.com.

Hi all,
November's Feature Game will be Great Western Trail. Ranked #15 on BoardGameGeek, this is a recreation of ranching in the wild west of America in which players are trying to move cattle to market. Of course there are decisions to be made along the way and only the mostly discerning rancher will gain greater profits than his rivals.
Of course, as always, there will also be many other games available to be played.

Hey Everyone,
I hope you're all been able to enjoy the warm Fall weather. Autumn is can be such a beautiful season - too bad its often too short. This Fall promises more than the usual changes with elections taking place both here in Saskatchewan and south of the border. So it seems appropriate to feature a game that recreates the machinations that these important events.
Our Feature Game for October is going to be one themed on the USA elections called Campaign Trail. This a strategy board game in which players pit their campaign skills against one another as they vie for the Presidency of the United States. You have just accepted your party's nomination for President of the United States. Now it's time to hit the Campaign Trail! How will you chart your path to victory? Engage in grass roots campaigning, advertise, sling mud at opponents, fund raise, debate, and so much more! But be sure to avoid revealing those skeletons you have buried in your closet. The candidate who best manages their resources and connects with the public on key issues will win the presidency!
Of course, as always, there will also be many other games available to be played.

**ALSO**
At the July Feature Friday, a game was forgotten by one of the attendees. If you picked up "FEUD", let me know or bring it out so we can get it back to its owner.
