GAME: Dungeons and Dragons, beginner but knows the basics
TEACHER: Sean
START TIME: 7:00pm
DURATION: 120-150 minutes
# OF PLAYERS: 4 to 5

I am looking at running a couple one shot sessions of Dungeons and Dragons over the next few weeks.  Ideally, I would be looking for players who know the basic rules, and have maybe played once or twice.  I am hoping this might connect people looking for some additional experience, and possibly to find other players for a group.  Group size should be 4 to 5 players as that is a normal group size.
I am open to teaching newer players, but not someone who has never played, or does not have any experience at all, as there isn't time to do this in a 2 hour time slot.

Role Playing Games / Re: Looking for D&D group

Hi Jason,

Nothing too crazy, we play one day a week, usually Wednesdays.  But, I would say we actually have everyone here maybe every second week.  We play board games in the off week sometimes, but it would be nice to have a group committed to playing each week.  I know things come up, but it is pretty regularly we miss a week, and sometimes different people miss, so that makes it more like playing once a month.

I am thinking maybe I should post for some new players and have a day we meet and play at Board Game Bistro or someplace and see how it goes.  I would love to have 4 or 5 committed players, right now it is 1-2, and our full group is me and 4 others.

Sean

I am looking for a couple committed players too.  Are you really in Maidstone, Pieces?  That would be a long drive to play in Regina!  lol

How committed?  What's your gaming schedule like?  I'm also in Regina, played D&D a couple times but interested in diving in  deeper.

I agree it is hard to start a group or find new players.  I am in my forties now too, and it feels like trying to date again!

Will I like them, will we get along, if I don't like them how do I tell them....   lol

That is one of the things I like about the new board game place, you can go and meet new people without as much of that sort of pressure.

Are you looking for a new group or players akaAelius?

I am not sure, but I sort of blame society in general...  lol

I have been part of different groups off and on over the last 10 years or so, and I find people say they want to play, but then finding people who actually show up on a regular basis is tough.  Every group I have been in has at least 1 or 2 people who miss roughly every second or third game.

Some of that is just life happening- sick days, family commitments etc., but we played on the same day each week, and several times a month we would have someone say, oh forgot we were playing, and I made other plans with my wife, or family.

I would love to find a group of 5 people who were consistently reliable and want to play.  I am in 3 different groups right now that play roughly on schedule, but usually miss at least 1 session out of 2.

If there are any groups looking for players I would be interested!
