GAME: Merchant's Dilemma
DESIGNER: Stephen Kenny
START TIMES: 11:00 and 12:30
DURATION: 30-60 minutes
Welcome to Merchant's Dilemma, a political game of cooperation and rivalry for 3-6 players. In Merchant's Dilemma, you are playing as a merchant who must negotiate with your fellow players to gain gold. Will you cooperate and both profit, or will you compete to try and take the riches for yourself? The choice is up to you! Each turn, you will choose to cooperate or compete with another player. Cooperation results in the biggest payout overall, if you both agree. Choosing to compete while they cooperate, however, will gain you more while they gain nothing. Hopefully they don't hold a grudge. Invest in Buildings to expand your influence, or play Tactics to get revenge on your enemies, but be careful who you burn. You might need them later if you hope to get ahead. Merchant's Dilemma only takes about 10 minutes to setup and learn. The game lasts about 10 minutes per player (30-60 minutes).
GAME: Monkey
DESIGNER: Rob Gosselin
START TIME: 2:00 pm
DURATION: 30-45 minutes
Kurgill the Wizard has gone crazy. Watch out, as you and your fellow monkey climbers must escape his hazardous spells. Bananas, faeries and anvils, oh my! You never know what Kurgill will throw at you next. Only the Treetop is safe. Climb as quickly as you can, battle to knock each other down, dodge the traps, and above all, beware of the Gnome. It's a race to the top. Monkey is a fast-paced, goofy card game where the odds are against you. It can be played with up to 4 players and even includes a solitaire mode. Each player is a monkey who starts at the bottom of the collective "Tree." Four cards make up the "Trunk" of the Tree and three cards make up the "Treetop." Each turn starts with you drawing a card into your hand from the draw pile, then flipping over the top card of the "Spell Deck" (usually this "spell" harms you, but you might get lucky!).
GAME: Pot O' Gold
DESIGNER: Derek Turner
START TIME: 4:00 pm
DURATION: 45 minutes
Pot O' Gold is a colorful, fast-paced family card game. Each player takes on the role of a leprechaun trying to be the first to complete their rainbow and get the Pot O' Gold - but they have to be wary of the other devious tricksters who have the same goal! Pot O' Gold includes nine different cards, each of which have actions associated with them. These include seven different color cards - Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet - that may be played sequentially to form a player's rainbow or to take an action that will help them manage their cards, get new cards, or attack another player. Play continues until one player has played all colors of the rainbow in order and plays a Pot O' Gold to win the game.

I would like to showcase my game that weekend at the PGX and would like to get 6 players together to play a sealed deck format game. This game is developed around modern naval combat, players will act as Admirals and have the opportunity to build and deploy ships, equip them with weapons cards and aircraft, and send them into combat against your opponent. Players command from a flagship that acts like a virtual ship that you can also deploy weapons and defense cards to, and can use these to attack your opponent or defend yourself from attack. Players will use resource cards to draw requisition to pay for your construction costs. Players will also have access to special Instant cards that can be played at anytime when that player has enough requisition and can satisfy any prerequisites. Complete rule book is available on the website above, as well as a visual spoiler of all the cards in the core set and upcoming expansion.

Rum & Bones is a fun versus-style game inspired by the "MOBA" style of computer game (DotA, League of Legends, etc.) where two sides compete to claim the most points by destroying objectives on their opponent's pirate ship. Occasionally, you might run into troublesome monsters from the briny depths which also count as objectives! They can pose a great threat, but if you defeat them you may provide your team with a significant boost, or even enough points to claim victory!
I usually don't like games where you directly compete with people, but this one is fast paced and even enough that it remains fun.
I'm in for the 5 hour of session please
If there's enough interest I'll run a Numenera RPG session.

GAME: Dark Moon
TEACHER: Chad Boudreau
START TIME: 5:00pm
DURATION: 90 minutes
# OF PLAYERS: 5 - 7
URL: Dark Moon (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/111124/dark-moon)
DARK MOON (formerly known as BSG Express) is a game of deception and betrayal at the cold edge of space. You are a crew member on a deep space mining expedition to Titan, the dark moon of Saturn. During a routine excavation, an "incident" occurs whereby some of the crew become infected with an unknown virus, and become paranoid, deceitful, and violent, trying to destroy the others.
All the tension of the BSG board game with a fraction of the playing time. The more players the merrier which is why I'm asking for 5 to 7 players.

START TIME: 10:00am
DURATION: 120 minutes
# OF PLAYERS: 6
URL: Thornwatch (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/159011/thornwatch)
Thornwatch is an adventure-based card game for 2-5 players and a Judge. Players are manifestations of the Thornwatch: scarred veterans of the Eyrewood who now live as spirits summoned by the ancient ritual of tying a knot of thorns around a birch tree. The Thornwatch summoned to a particular tree do not necessarily know each other or the true nature of the problem they've been called to resolve; all they know is that they've answered the call, and they're bound to see it through.
For backing the game on Kickstarter, Kevin McLean received a print-and-play version of the game. He had it printed at a local print shop and is excited to bring it to Prairie Game Expo. Players' feedback on the game will be given to the developers of the game.
Kevin is willing to run multiple sessions of this game, if interest is high. The first session begins at 10am.

WHEN: Saturday October 1, 2016
WHERE: Prairie Game eXpo (http://sask.games/index.php?topic=6152.0)
START TIME: 10:00 AM
DURATION: 6 hours
MAXIMUM PLAYERS: 10Tournament FormatStar Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game is a tactical ship-to-ship combat game in which players take control of powerful Rebel X-wings and nimble Imperial TIE fighters, facing them against each other in fast-paced space combat. Featuring stunningly detailed and painted miniatures, the X-Wing Miniatures Game recreates exciting Star Wars space combat throughout its several included scenarios. Select your crew, plan your maneuvers, and complete your mission!
Escalation tournaments are held in a series of four tournament rounds. The first round is 50 minutes, the second round is 70 minutes, the third round is 90 minutes, and the fourth round is 120 minutes.
Each new tournament round, players field a larger pre-built squad (following the Escalation squad building rules below), and players will score tournament points after each round based on the result of their game. After four tournament rounds the tournament ends and prizes are given out based on player record. We have a variety of X-Wing cards from various OP kits for prizes.
Each player may choose to field a Rebel, Imperial, or Scum & Villainy squad, as tournament seeding ignores the player's faction. Each of the squads fielded must be from the same faction. You may not have more than eight small ships of the same ship type (TIE fighter, A-Wing, etc.) in any squad. You may not have more than four large ships of the same ship type in any squad.
The maximum squad points for each player's first squad is 60 points. A squad cannot exceed 60 points, though it may contain fewer than 60 points. Each player must field at least two ships.
On subsequent rounds, the maximum squad points for each player's squad increases to 90 for the second round, 120 for the third round, and 150 for the fourth. During each round, each squad must contain all ships and upgrade cards from the previous squad. Ships from the previous round must keep all equipped upgrade cards, and these cards may not be "transferred" to a different ship. However, new upgrade cards may be added to ships from the previous squad.
The complete, official Escalation Tournament rules (https://images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/filer_public/c7/6f/c76f220b-5efd-4afc-912b-e67dfcda034e/x-wing_escalationrules_v301.pdf) as provided by Fantasy Flight Games can be read here (https://images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/filer_public/c7/6f/c76f220b-5efd-4afc-912b-e67dfcda034e/x-wing_escalationrules_v301.pdf). It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that players familiarise themselves with the tournament rules BEFORE the tournament.

START TIME: 1:00pm
DURATION: 2-3 hrs
# OF PLAYERS: 2-6
URL: http://www.navalbattlesccg.com
I'd like to sign up for the xwing escalation tournament.

If there's room left in the X-wing tournament I'd like to play.
Everything has been updated up to this point. Sorry it took so long.
Thanks. I'm pretty new to the game and this is actually my first tournament so I was just wondering if I need to submit my lists before hand and also should I bring my game mat?

You don't need to submit your list in advance. Feel free to bring a mat. The organizers have some mats but we're hoping some players would bring mats, too.
I'm excited that our SaskGames Design Team has several games available to learn and play in the Game Design Corner. Check out the descriptions of the games and plan to stop by to play a local design!

One thing to keep in mind is that it is an escalation tournament so there are some specialized rules for building your squad, if you are unfamiliar with the escalation format here is a link to some rules from Fantasy Flight: https://images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/filer_public/c7/6f/c76f220b-5efd-4afc-912b-e67dfcda034e/x-wing_escalationrules_v301.pdf
Last time we did one, we filled out our lists at the start of the event, and noted what round we would add in each new ship/upgrade.
In any case, it's tons of fun!
Yeah, we will fill out the lists at the beginning of tournament again. So no need to have it submitted ahead of time. if you have any questions feel free to pm me or post here. Also, I'm bringing my 3 mats, but depending on numbers we may need at most 2 more.
RobSven, I will be bringing my laptop and such to run the tournament software, but that may mean I am unable to bring mats, as that will all be a little too much to carry.
I can bring 2 FFG mats for the X-Wing tourney
DCStyles: Perfect, that'll be enough mats for everyone then!
Rogue: Awesome thanks! The laptop will be great .. I'm in the process of trying to fix my brothers laptop so I have something to use for tourneys
If it matters, I can bring a mat too. It may not be official, but it smells delicious.
I'll sign up for Dark Moon, Thanks
I would like to sign up for the learn to play dominion and the DOminion tournament
Hey guys, just to let you know I may have to leave the X-Wing tournament early for work that day. I have asked Sheldyn if he could bring his tablet to run the tournament software.

Hi Clayton, welcome to Regina and to SaskGames. After you've met some of us on Saturday come on out to Boston Pizza Tuesday night and play some more games. Always glad to see new faces.
I'll be there.
I'm going to bring along 'Legendary Encounters: A Firefly Deck Building Game'.
I'm not 100% sure what time I'll be there otherwise I would have set up a time to play, but I'm hoping it will be around noon.
If you're interested in trying it out look for me and we'll get a game going.
Hey Tempest, as of now there is an odd number of players in the xwing tourney, so if your running late / can't make it that early, I could make it so you had first round bye.
I'd like to sign up for the Dixit tournament!
I can't find any definitive answer to "can we bring games without scheduling them?".
You can absolutely bring your own games without scheduling. The schedule is there to help out with planning but is not mandatory. There will be players wanted signs you can borrow to help fill up your game if you need.
