If you would like to schedule a game. Please post in this event thread with the following information:
Name of the game, when you would like to start, The duration of the game, and the number of players it can accommodate.
I would like to host a game of battlestar galactica. 630 start time. There are 3 of us already, just need 1-3 more for a good game!
Sign me up for Battlestar Galactica
I've never played Battlestar Galactica before, been wanting to give it a shot. Sign me up.
Are new players ok to jump into Mice and mystics as well? If so I'd like to join that.
Is there any interest in playing Coup? I don't see that it's ever been at the Chewsday Challenge. I just got my Coup and Reformation (sequel/supplement) Kickstarter from my Montana PO box on Monday and it would be fun to share it with some of you if you've not seen it before.
I'd like to try Mice and Mystics as well.

Battlestar Galactica is a pretty long game. BGG has it posted as 3 hours. Unless BrittaniBruder thinks it's going to go shorter than that you probably won't be finished by 8:30
Please sign me up for Mice and Mystics.
BSG is a long game. 3 hours for sure, I bet. It is a game that fosters a lot of in-game discussion, which stretches out the playtime. Excellent game. Intense. But not likely to wrap up in time for Mice and Mystics.
sign me up for battlestar please

I just found a new copy of Reiner Knizia's long out-of-print
Blue Moon City and picked it up. This is a 4-player board game sequel(-of-sorts) to his 2-player collectible card game
Blue Moon. While the original was about factions battling it out, this game takes place after the war with everyone coming together to rebuild Blue Moon City (the player who contributes the most wins & becomes the leader of the newly rebuilt city).
It involves set collection, hand management, area control/influence and a modular board (I've heard some of
Istanbul's mechanics compared to it - there are a couple of similarities in movement and scoring).
We'll go over the rules to start and it's not too complicated.
(4 players, 60 minutes at 6:30)

The Dark Age is over. The royal heirs, whose infighting and pride caused the destruction of Blue Moon City, have fled. The corrupt advisors and courtiers who whispered into their ears have been banished. The bitter division between the peoples of Blue Moon is beginning to heal. Now is a time of harmony and hope.
But Blue Moon City remains in ruins, the barest outlines in the rubble giving a hint of the magnificence of the city before its downfall. The people have vowed that the city must be rebuilt, and the three elemental dragons have returned to help. As messengers of the god of Blue Moon, they have the power to reunite the Holy Crystal that once protected the city. The only question that remains is this: To whom will they bestow the new mantle of leadership?
Contribute to the reconstruction of Blue Moon City to gain crystals. Impress the dragons to collect golden scales and convert these into crystals. Be the first to make enough offerings to the obelisk in the central courtyard to gain the leadership of the city and win the game.

I'll try Blue Moon City too.
I'm up for Blue Moon City as well. Thanks.
I have some gaming friends coming in from Okotoks Alberta. :excited
I will post a game once I find out what they would like to play.
Bricktown and I will be teaching X-Wing again this week. We have room for 2 more players, start around 9:30 whenever the BSG game ends.
I think I'll bring out Legendary: Alien Encounters again this week. I believe it plays up to five, shouldn't take much more than an hour. I wouldn't mind doing multiple sessions if there's enough interest. I'll probably start closer to 7:30 unless it turns out I don't have to work that day. (I'll make another post if that happens)
...I might even sneak in some characters from regular Legendary in for the lulz...
Gah! Darn me for not checking in sooner! Mice and Mystics all filled up! We'll have to try again another time, Murray.
Also, there will be no chewsday RPG this week, too busy getting ready for prairie con. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Sign me up for x wing after battlestar please
I'll bring out Russian Railroads for 8:30. It plays 2-4 in about 120 minutes.
(https://sask.games/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fcf.geekdo-images.com%2Fimages%2Fpic1772936.jpg&hash=d7703b5b8ad8e23318dd74b7ac3c695b97a96749) | "In Russian Railroads, players compete in an exciting race to build the largest and most advanced railway network. In order to do so, the players appoint their workers to various important tasks.
The development of simple tracks will quickly bring the players to important places, while the modernization of their railway network will improve the efficiency of their machinery. Newer locomotives cover greater distances and factories churn out improved technology. Engineers, when used effectively, can be the extra boost that an empire needs to race past the competition.
There are many paths to victory: Who will ride into the future full steam ahead and who will be run off the rails? Whose empire will overcome the challenges ahead and emerge victorious?" |

I'm going to bring out Kaosball for 6:30pm (4 players, 120 minutes)
(https://sask.games/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fcf.geekdo-images.com%2Fimages%2Fpic1602925_md.jpg&hash=1817b0e93d3dd3a1e1ebd92509fed71ddd5bf8c6) | Kaosball is a new kind of fantasy sports game, combining rugby-style passing finesse and first person shooter domination-style scoring. The result is a tense game of skill, bluffing, luck, and lethal brutality like you've never played before!
Brought to you by acclaimed designer Eric M. Lang, Kaosball uses exciting card-based play mechanisms to put players in the role of a coach, managing their unique, game-altering team from scrimmage to sudden death period to outscore their opponents. Players need to balance scoring and killing their opponents, using powerful cheating effects all the while – as long as you have the money to pay off the ref. No two matches will play the same! |

Silent_Rob has asked me to bring out Machi Koro, so I'll start that at 8:30 (4 Players, 30-45 minutes)
(https://sask.games/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fcf.geekdo-images.com%2Fimages%2Fpic1992476_md.jpg&hash=edc207e772f9978126622763b741452257fea423) | Welcome to the city of Machi Koro. You've just been elected Mayor. Congrats! Unfortunately the citizens have some pretty big demands: jobs, a theme park, a couple of cheese factories and maybe even a radio tower. A tough proposition since the city currently consists of a wheat field, a bakery and a single die.
Armed only with your trusty die and a dream, you must grow Machi Koro into the largest city in the region. You will need to collect income from developments, build public works, and steal from your neighbors' coffers. Just make sure they aren't doing the same to you!
Machi Koro is a fast-paced game for 2-4 players. Each player wants to develop the city on his own terms in order to complete all of the landmarks under construction faster than his rivals. On his turn, each player rolls one or two dice. If the sum of the dice rolled matches the number of a building that a player owns, he gets the effect of that building; in some cases opponents will also benefit from your die (just as you can benefit from theirs). Then, with money in hand a player can build a landmark or a new building, ideally adding to the wealth of his city on future turns. The first player to construct all of his landmarks first wins! |

Awesome! Thanks, Nicole.
I wouldn't mind getting into X-Wing if you guys don't mind teaching me.

Of course, the more the merrier :)
I deeply regret having to do this again - because of our lovely weather I now have another football game moved to a Tuesday so I have to cancel my participation in the evening. I will try again with Mice & Mystics the following week
Since Mice and Mystics has now been cancelled, please sign me up for Russian Railroads.
I'll play Russian railroads
Sign me up for 6:30 Blue Moon City and 8:30 Russian Railroads please.
If BSG is going to run 3 hours, then I would like to run a game at 930. Lost Cities. 4 players 60 minutes
Please sign me up for Lost Cities at 930.
Looks like most things are full already.
I will bring out Lords of Waterdeep for a 6:30 start, including the corruption expansion.
NeikeDjour, I'd like to play Machi Koro sometime - any chance you'd bring it again another week or bring it to the Play With Your Food event?
since mice and mystics is canceled, I will bring Catan Histories "Settlers of America" it is a 4 player game , takes 2hours and a 7:00 start

Yup, just let me know when you want me to bring it out.
On another note, wow, tons of scheduled gaming this week. :D
In for legendary.
Hello, I am new to the boards and new to playing board games other than the perennial family favorites. I know DCStyles and Bricktown from work. They have been telling me about the Tuesday night get together for a while now.
I would like to throw my name in for Catan Histories "Settlers of America". I haven't played Settlers of Catan before or its variants, if I do some studying before hand is it all right if I join in?
Thanks
As someone who started off without very much knowledge about board games (except maybe magic the gathering) let me tell you that it is 100% okay to come in to a game without any knowledge about what you're going to play; one of the main points of these events is to try out new games and have fun! In other words, it never hurts to be prepared, but it's definitely not a requirement!
Of course, that's just the viewpoint from a player, I'm sure someone more official than I could phrase it better ;p
You won't have any trouble learning Settlers DC, it's easy peasy
I agree. At least 60% of the games I've signed up for I've either never played beforehand, or only know how to play because someone at the group taught it to me. Reading the rules beforehand might help but it's not nessesary. A lot of the time it's easier to learn with someone teaching you. :D People are more than happy to teach them.
I've only been to one Chewsday Challenge so far (second tomorrow), but the vibe is definitely we-will-hold-your-hand-a-little-if-you-need-it. Lots of sharing of strategy and ideas. We are playing the game and someone will win, but there's lots of help as far as understanding how the game works.
That all sounds good to me. Thanks for the kind words of encouragement everyone.
Thanks for the positive words everyone!
Wouldn't say 'em if they weren't true!
Side note: I just noticed Legendary has a total of four slots; there's actually room for five!

I love coup and would definitely play!!
Can I signup for Lost Cities at 9:30? Is there still room?
Wow! Another exciting lineup of games for this week's installment of CC. I should be there by mid-evening to join in. Will bring along a couple of print and play oddities.
I'd be up for playing Kaosball!
One of my friends isn't coming anymore tonight so there is one spot open for BSG at 630!
There has been a change of plans. My gf will also be accompanying me to BP tonight, but we can only get there for 7:30. So please take me out of Blue Moon City and Russian Railroads. We will probably look for a lightish-gateway game to jump into when we get there (if there are any running).
Sorry for the inconvenience and short notice.
Turns out Amanda has a geography test tomorrow. Need to help her study......will try to get out later on.
Thanks to everyone who gamed with me yesterday - three great games: Blue Moon City, Coup and Russian Railroads. Quite a lot of fun! (Thanks for Lori for thinking to bring my just-received copy of Coup and Reformation... Coup is a great drop-in game when you have a few spare minutes.)
It was nice meeting you and Lori, Jim. Thanks for the games. I would definitely play coup and russian railroads again.
