Let's try this again! (4 players, 120 minutes @ 8:30pm)

In Mice and Mystics players take on the roles of those still loyal to the king – but to escape the clutches of Vanestra, they have been turned into mice! Play as cunning field mice who must race through a castle now twenty times larger than before. The castle would be a dangerous place with Vanestra's minions in control, but now countless other terrors also await heroes who are but the size of figs. Play as nimble Prince Collin and fence your way past your foes, or try Nez Bellows, the burly smith. Confound your foes as the wizened old mouse Maginos, or protect your companions as Tilda, the castle's former healer. Every player will have a vital role in the quest to warn the king, and it will take careful planning to find Vanestra's weakness and defeat her.

Mice and Mystics is a cooperative adventure game in which the players work together to save an imperiled kingdom. They will face countless adversaries such as rats, cockroaches, and spiders, and of course the greatest of all horrors: the castle's housecat, Brodie. Mice and Mystics is a boldly innovative game that thrusts players into an ever-changing, interactive environment, and features a rich storyline that the players help create as they play the game. The Cheese System allows players to hoard the crumbs of precious cheese they find on their journey, and use it to bolster their mice with grandiose new abilities and overcome seemingly insurmountable odds.

Mice and Mystics will provide any group of friends with an unforgettable adventure they will be talking about for years to come – assuming they can all squeak by...

And I can't make this one. The one night all year that I'm stuck with a Tuesday night symphony rehearsal!  Hopefully not the last round of Mice & Mystics.

I will be bringing Archipelago for a 7pm start.  2-5 players.  I have only played once before this (so it will be a kind of learning game for me too), and if we have 5 players, the game could last upto 3 hours.  Please include my gf (Amanda) in the list of players tentatively as well.

I'm bringing the sci-fi card game Among The Stars to play at 6:30.  It's a card drafting game with a spacial, tile-placing element - the cards are rooms/areas that each player buys and places to build the greatest space station in the galaxy (meaning your station scores more points than your opponents' stations).  There are also variable player powers based on which alien you end up being and a few additional elements that are optional.  Depending on how players feel about the basics, we can add in more or less of them (though most of the optional extras are pretty straight-forward)

We'll go over the rules to start so new players are welcome.  Standard game time is 60 minutes but I'd estimate it's closer to 90 minutes with first-time players.

(4 players, 90 minutes at 6:30)

Among the Stars takes place in a war-ravaged galaxy where the warring alien races have declared peace in the wake of a threat with the potential to destroy them all. An Alliance is established to build space stations throughout the galaxy in order to promote trade among the races, strengthen diplomatic relations, and defend against this impending threat. Each player takes the role of one of those races trying to build the greatest space station. Through card drafting, the players select locations, and use these to build their station, scoring victory points based on the placement. The construction lasts four years, and alien race with the most points at the end wins.

By the way, a "year" is how the makers of Among The Stars refer to a round of play.  So when the blurb says "four years" it means four rounds. No need to worry.   :D

Archipelago's an awesome game, I recommend it to anyone wanting to try out a really interesting worker placement game. I'd sign up, but I probably work 'til 7 as it is. If enough people are interested, I'd like to bring out Formula D; room for up to 10(!) people, I'd say 2-3 hours tops. If there isn't enough interest, I can potentially take requests or I'll otherwise wait and see what pops up.

Yup, it is a brilliant design in my book.  I view it as more than a worker placement game though. There is exploration, auctioning/bidding, negotiation and a traitor (possibly). The "semi-co-op" nature of the game is interesting. I love the graphic design of the game too.  I've only played one 3-player game of it and am hoping for a 4 or 5 player game on Tuesday.
Tempest - I'll  probably bring it out in the future as well so hopefully you'll be able to sign up on one of those occasions.

Yeah, 'worker-placement' is more of a generalization I guess haha. Sounds good; I usually play it on the weekends with my gaming group, so no huge rush, but I'll definitely give it a shot next time our schedules line up.

Sorry Lori - I've got you marked down on the list I'm bringing with me (to keep track of who's playing). But I think a moderator has to make the change on the OP of this thread to add you there. Or at least nothing's coming up that would let me make the edit.

I'll bring out Krosmaster Arena out for 8:30pm. (4 Players, 120 min.)

Krosmaster: Arena is a player-vs-player, tactical card game with anime-style miniatures that offers the craftiest tacticians among you the chance to challenge other players to heated battles in arenas scattered around Hormonde. All players build their team using a pre-determined method, whether a point system, draft, or at random. Equip your team with spells, weapons and other items adapted to their requirements, then utilize their various talents and abilities to create a powerful fighting force. Every figure has a point value attached to it to help balance things out. Randomly drawn event cards spice up the game at each turn, and the winning conditions differ for each game based on the scenario you choose to play. Only those who are able to create a strong, yet versatile, strategy will prevail!
