*** ChewsDay Challenge ***
(https://sask.games/gallery/1_11_09_12_10_24_41.gif)

What: The ChewsDay Challenge series of events is part of an initiative to host a public weekly game night that is welcoming to new members and is a way for people new to boardgames to experience a beginner friendly atmosphere. A opportunity for people new to designer board games or veterans of the hobby to come out, meet 'n' greet, and play some games.   This is held at a great location with full food and beverage service. Come on out and try some games.

The venue is also a great place for Wargamers and Strategy Gamers to come out and play a game. There are some titles that are hard to get to the table, let's try to get them the attention they deserve at a ChewsDay Challenge.

Where: North Albert St. Boston Pizza (Regina) (http://sask.games/index.php?topic=2043.0)

When: Every ChewsDay night of course, see date on this post for this particular event.

Who: Anyone interested in playing boardgames. The venue is suitable for many different styles of games: (Wargames, Euro Games, Crokinole, Chess, Go, Scrabble, Backgammon, etc.)

Why: Life is Short; Play Games!

Although not necessary, we urge you to post in this thread if you are coming and what games you might bring or would like to play. Prearranging some games helps get some of the harder titles to the table. Perhaps you have seen someone post about a game in THIS THREAD (http://sask.games/index.php?topic=1799.0), this might be an opportunity to get them to bring out the game and show you.

If you are new to the gaming scene in the City of Regina, come on out and meet some others. Feel free to come a bit early and grab a bite to eat. See you there!!!  :excited

Every ChewsDay Challenge, we will have a Game Host on site to teach a game. This is a great way for new players to experience a game in a beginner friendly environment. The Weekly Game will be set up at 6:15pm and players are urged to be there for 6:30. The feature game will start at 6:45pm. Note: A number of us go early (5ish) to grab a bite to eat, you are welcome to join us.

Without further adieu, here is the Game Host of the week:

There are lots of people bringing games out to play on ChewsDay Challenge Game Nights. To help attendees maximize their gaming experience we can help schedule games into slots for planning purposes. Post in the thread if you want to schedule a game and have folks sign up in advance. There are TWO basic time slots for this. 6:30pm time slot and 8:30pm. This is the start time for these games. They will be set up earlier. If you sign up for a game, please be there at least 15 minutes prior to start or your seat may be given to someone else. This is not mandatory, casual open gaming is still very much encouraged as well. Whether you wish to plan your game night or just show up and play it by ear, game on...

This event continues to grow and each week we seem to hit a new record attendance. Starting this week, we are asking patrons to dine outside of the designated gaming area as we are started to run into space constraints. This will leave the area for games more readily available for people to play games. Quite often, there are a number of us that show up at 5pm to eat so we are ready to rumble at 6:00pm :) Feel free to join us for a bite to eat.

I plan to bring Neuroshima Hex out. A four player team game would be great. Say 8:30 start...

EDIT: No interest for Neuroshima so I pulled it off the 8:30 slot

I'll probably be there after 7 or 8, not sure exactly when yet, so I won't try and hold a spot in a reserved game.

Guy, if you like Citadels I am going to be running Mission Red Planet on the 18th, same designers with a different theme but it has the role selection mechanism.

and on a completely selfish note.......save Jamaica for next week. I can't make this week and have been wanting to try that for quite some time.

Thanks Colin, I have seen a significantly higher number of people showing lately and was thinking of larger number games hence Citadels.  I started a new rotation at work so I am there every second Tuesday, so I am here this week and then every two weeks after that.

This was the first ChewsDay of the Month and you know what that means! Prize Night!
David Gray-Owen rolled the dice to determine our prize winners:

(1) Boston Pizza $25 Gift Certificate - LOGAN DRYDALE. Unfortunately for Logan, he was not there so next month the Boston Pizza draw will be for a $50 gift certificate. WooHoo.

(2) ComicReaders $50 Gift Certificate - BARRY ELLIS. Dana presented Barry with the gift certificate for ComicReaders.

I think it is only proper to say at this point that Boston Pizza and ComicReaders should be thanked for making this event possible. This event would not be possible without their involvement. The venue is superb and is great for gathering to play games, and the amount of care and attention the event planning staff have put in place for this event is commendable.

PLEASE SUPPORT BOSTON PIZZA AND COMICREADERS AS A SHOW OF THANKS FOR THESE EVENTS!
