By popular demand, we'll play Kremlin at 6:30.  JHagel, please confirm you're playing.  We'll play the modern game.  This game is a hoot - it's hard to explain why it's so fun but it's always a blast.

At 8:45 we'll play two partyish games - Pit and Dutch Blitz.  Pit is a rowdy game where you have to trade cards with other players (who are also trading simultaneously), trying to get all the cards of one resource to corner the market.  This game is always fun.  We'll follow it up with a round or two or three (depending on time) of Dutch Blitz (including the Blue Expansion Pack, so we can play up to 8 players).  This is a game where you have to exhaust your stump pile by stacking cards of the same colour in upward numeric order - but the other players are playing on the same piles!  The game gets frantic... it's amazingly fun.  Even if you're not big into party games I think you'll like these.

I'm still chipping away at playing a bunch of the un-played games from our collection so I thought I'd bring out the (currently) #7 game of all time*: Puerto Rico.

Cake is one of my own designs.  It's a long-form strategy game about cute monster gangs smashing the humans town (and each other) to find delicious cake to bring to a party.  I'm trying out some new mechanics that will hopefully make the game play faster and smoother.  Try it out and get in on playtesting a locally designed game!
