I've got a few updates / questions for you X-Wing players.

1. ComicReaders Downtown has received a copy of The Father's Day OP Kit. It comes with alternate art Darth Vader pilot cards and alternate art Luke Skywalker pilot cards. Ideally, a tournament is run. All participants receive alternate art Vader and alternate art Luke. To distribute these cards I'd like to hold a a special X-Wing event on Saturday, July 9 or Saturday, July 23. I envision a team event where it is 2 vs 2 players. Instead of a tournament, I'd like to propose an escort mission where Imperials escorting supply containers are ambushed by Rebels looking to destroy the containers. Each table would support 4 players-- two teams of 2. Each participant would receive a copy of each alternate art card. I'm working on both July 9 and July 23 so I could set up the games but I'd ask for a volunteer (who can play in the event) to help with any questions that arise during play. So, what do you folks think of that?

2. As a fundraiser for 24 Hours to Play With Your Food, I'd like to run a Death Star Trench Run. This scenario supports 6 players-- 3 per side. It makes use of X-Wing rules, but there are a few scenario specific rules, including secret event cards that are thematically accurate to the trench run seen in Star Wars: A New Hope. There would be a $5 entry fee per player with the proceeds going to my 24 Hours to Play With Your Food team. I've run this scenario in the past it takes 3 - 4 hours. I can run this at the store. If there is enough interest from players I can run more than one session. First step though is to reply to this post if you'd be interested in taking part in this highly thematic, white-knuckle X-Wing scenario.

Cheers.

As it stands now I don't work on July 23rd so that would be my preference but if majority would like it to be on the 9th I will do my best to get the day off.

I am definitely down for both of these events. And either July 9th or 23rd work for me. Also, if no one else feels like it, I don't mind being the one to answer questions.

Serious Boo-urns.

The escort missions will be on Saturday, July 9, starting at 11am.
I'll post the details in a separate thread this weekend.
But the quick version is 2 players vs 2 players where it is Rebels vs. Imperials.
Multiple tables.
There will be point restriction for each player.
There will be ship restrictions. For example, no Scum and Villainy, no YT-1300. This is a small ship combat scenario.
There is an "escort" special rule I devised for this scenario. This allows a defending player to prevent an attacker from attacking the container, but as a result the escorting ship draws the fire. This makes flying escort dangerous, but necessary if the defenders want to win.
The scenario is thematic. Come for fun.
I use flat, uninteresting cardboard to represent the containers. I'll post the dimensions when I post the event. If someone has something more visually exciting to stand-in for my cardboard please feel free to let me know!

Sounds fun! July 9th is good for me, 23rd is Shakcon, so not as much.
