Title: Thursday Night MTG Cube - ComicReaders - Dec 2015 / Jan 2016 Dates
Post by: Mon on December 14, 2015, 06:24:11 PM
For those of you who are new to the concept of a Cube,
its a pool of cards that can be randomized, organized into packs, and used to draft.
Normal draft rules then apply.

MTG - Introduction To Cube - What is a Magic: The Gathering Cube?

I have assembled an all proxy replica of the 2015 MTGO VINTAGE CUBE.

There is one of each card and here is the link to all the cards that will be in the cube.

From these cards we will form packs of 15 to draft with.

Come out Thursday night to cube.
Date: Dec. 17, Jan. 7
Start time: 6PM.

I am completely new to cube, and I've always wondered about it. Do you mind explaining a few concepts?

In the video they said other then a cube you'd usually draft 3 packs, wouldn't that only give you 45 cards, when a deck needs to be 60? Does that mean a draft usually doesn't include land cards?
Is a cube all colours? If so, how do you strategize to make a decent deck when you are trying to fulfill colour requirements?
Do you pull 45 cards and then draft all 45? How long does that usually take? Are you usually stuck with a few cards that are almost unusable in your deck?

I have a few friends that I play with occasionally, but we haven't customized our decks in a long time so every time we play it feels very same-y. I feel like a cube would be good for us to experience the game again in a new way without spending more money. I'm not really sure where I'd start to create a cube, but it is really intriguing to me. I have a decent amount of cards, but they're from all sorts of series, and honestly I don't have them sorted in any fashion.

Thanks~

In draft and sealed your deck only needs to be a minimum of 40 cards.  Usually consisting of 23 spells/creatures and 17 land.
