I'm an avid drinker of loose leaf tea. I'm an avid player of board games. These hobbies, of course, cannot meet. Or can they?
It turns out they can. Lori and I have already brought out Elevenses and Darjeeling. This is my third tea-related game, and what a game. Full of interesting strategy and mechanics, it's effectively an auction-based worker placement game with some really interesting uniquenesses. Check out the BGG link for more.
This will be my first public playing of the game so your patience is appreciated. I'll limit the game to four players just to ensure that we stay on schedule.
I'm really looking forward to giving this game a try with four players, and I hope you'll join in.
I'll play yunnan
I'll play Yunnan!
I also want to bring out Compounded again, this time with the kickstarter expansion Chemical Chaos (which was a built in expansion to the base game when it first kickstarted).

Sign me up for Dead of Winter please
I'll join Compounded. I had a good time playing it last week.
I enjoyed Compounded too so back for that one.
Please sign me up for Dead of Winter.
I'm going to bring out the new deduction/party game Codenames to play on Tuesday. I've heard it described as Password meets Battleship and I'd say that's pretty accurate. Each team is lead by a 'Spymaster' who's trying to get their team to guess which code words on the board represent their team's spies. They do this by giving one-word clues along with a number to indicate how many of the code words relate to the clue. The more clues relate the faster your team can win. But if you're not careful your team might accidentally guess words that are simply innocent bystanders, the other team's code words or 'The Assassin' (if that happens, your team immediately loses).
It sounds a little complicated but it's surprisingly straight-forward, easy-to-learn and lots of fun so everyone's welcome to give it a try. It plays up to 8 (or more, actually) and I'm good going with a full-compliment of players. Games take around 15 minutes so I figure we'll play 3 or 4 games in an hour. That way different people can get the chance to be the 'Spymasters.'
GAME TITLE: Codenames
TEACHER: silent_rob
START TIME: 8:30
DURATION: 60min
# OF PLAYERS: 8
URL: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/178900/codenames (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/178900/codenames)
Lori, you should bring Flip City out! :)
GAME TITLE: Letters from Whitechapel
TEACHER: RTigger
START TIME: 8:15
DURATION: 2h
# OF PLAYERS: 6
URL: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/59959/letters-whitechapel
Get ready to enter the poor and dreary Whitechapel district in London 1888 – the scene of the mysterious Jack the Ripper murders – with its crowded and smelly alleys, hawkers, shouting merchants, dirty children covered in rags who run through the crowd and beg for money, and prostitutes – called "the wretched" – on every street corner.
The board game Letters from Whitechapel, which plays in 90-150 minutes, takes the players right there. One player plays Jack the Ripper, and his goal is to take five victims before being caught. The other players are police detectives who must cooperate to catch Jack the Ripper before the end of the game. The game board represents the Whitechapel area at the time of Jack the Ripper and is marked with 199 numbered circles linked together by dotted lines. During play, Jack the Ripper, the Policemen, and the Wretched are moved along the dotted lines that represent Whitechapel's streets. Jack the Ripper moves stealthily between numbered circles, while policemen move on their patrols between crossings, and the Wretched wander alone between the numbered circles.
I'll join Dead of Winter
ME and Jason would be interested in Letters from Whitechapel
Sign me up for code names please!
If there's room, please sign me up for Letter from Whitechapel.
I would like to try Codenames.
Additionally, I am bringing Seasons out for a 6:30 start.
Unfortunately I can't make it tonight so take me off the games I signed up for
Sign me up for seasons
I'll play Codenames.
I've signed myself up for Seasons and both the wife and I for Codenames.
Please sign me up for Yunnan and Letters from whitechapel. Hopefully they will not overlap.
My experience is that Letters from Whitechapel is one of the few games that's actually relatively easy game to join after it's already started if time becomes an issue.
Yep, shouldn't be an issue to join up if you run a bit late
John and I will jump into Seasons
Hi can you sign me up for compounded at 9pm
Thanks
