I had a request for Manhattan Project so I'm bringing it out on Tuesday. It's a worker placement game where players race to build the biggest atomic weapons. To do so you've got to utilize your scientists and engineers to develop your infrastructure (universities, mines, factories, etc.), build and test bombs, commit a little espionage and maybe, just maybe, air strike your opponents' facilities back to the stone age.

Please add omegadirective.

It takes around 120 minutes to play and there's still room for another 3 more players. It's not too bad to learn so everyone's welcome to play. Plus we'll throw in the Nations & Nations 2 Expansions, this time.

I'm going to bring out the new, western, dexterity game Flick 'em Up on Tuesday. It's a little like Crokinole but only in the "flicking wooden discs" sense. Players are on opposing teams of either lawmen or outlaws and they have wooden cowboy meeples that they move around an old west town by flicking a movement disc. There are wooden & cardboard buildings they can flick in and out of as well as wooden bales of hay, cacti, barrels and such that they can dodge around and hide behind. They also have smaller, wooden "bullets" that they shoot (meaning "flick") at their opponents' meeples (along with a stick of dynamite and a Winchester to aid in making long shots). If two opposing meeples end up in the same building they'll end up having a duel. But this is also all scenario-based so there are various end-game goals like winning the gunfight, robbing the bank or saving the kidnapped daughter of a local rich proprietor.

It's really fun and very easy so everyone's welcome to play. It plays up to 10 but I think I'll stick to 6 players so it doesn't get too crazy. It ranges between 30-45 minutes but we'll say 60min+ just in case we can squeeze in two scenarios.

A unique combination of worker placement, resource management, deckbuilding, and 7 wonders-esque neighbour interaction, Lewis & Clark has players in an alternate history where each player represents a team of explorers out to find the Pacific Coast.  Each player has their own Corps of Discovery that will be completed by the Native Americans and the trappers met during the journey. Players have to cleverly manage their characters and also the resources they find along the way. Beware; sometimes frugality is better than abundance.

How late do people usually stay for Chewsday Challenge?  Do games ever start at 9:30pm?  This is only my second one but I'd love to play 'something' starting around 9:30 when flick em up is over.  Or is it better to just bring a few games and see what happens?

A decent amount of games start at 8:30. You could schedule something for 9:30, and see if anyone signs up. Otherwise, it's good just to bring some stuff and see who is around. A lot of Ticket To Ride people could be done around then.  ;)
