If you would like to schedule a game. Please post in this event thread with the following information:
Name of the game, when you would like to start, The duration of the game, and the number of players it can accommodate.Due to the overwhelming success of ChewsDay Challenge we might need to limit table space in the early evening if attendance is high and the restaurant is busy. We ask that larger-sized games be planned for 7:30 and later after Boston Pizza's dinner rush when we can spill out into the dining area, if needed, and with the restaurant's permission. Please be considerate when choosing your table area to maximize player density. Thank you for helping make ChewsDay Challenge a success!

Could I please host Star Wars Imperial Assault for 7:30? Or am I too new to host / teach a game?

No such thing as too new. :)
When giving notice that you want to host a game, can you fill in all the information requested in the second post of the thread? It makes it easier for us moderators updating the first post. Thanks.
Jem, I put you down for 5 players and 120 minutes. Let me know if that works for you. (I've never played the game; if it would take longer than 120 minutes, let me know.)

Yes of course i would have completed the template for hosting. First i was confirming that i was even allowed to host. Thank you for confirming and also for filling that out for me. 120 minutes is plenty of time to play a game. Thanks again :D
Haha, I should've waited a day before posting to host, been dying to try out Imperial Assault. I'm already running Waterdeep, but if you bring out Imperial Assault again another night Jem, I'd really like to get in on it.

For you i will be sure to bring it out again for next week. i will go there now and set it up :) See you then

Mind signing me up for Lords of Waterdeep, please?
My apologies, I have to cancel hosting Lords of Waterdeep. Just got booked to work overtime this night. I'll try and get the game back to Chewsday next time I'm able.

Do you speaka the English? :)
Seriously, you're more than fine to teach a game. I think I taught one within my first month. If you know it well and can explain it to your players, you're good to go.
I'll be bringing out Egizia for when Carc is done, so we'll say 9:00. (If interested parties are available sooner we can start sooner) 4 players total, shouldn't be much more than an hour *with* explanation.
I'll play Egizia.
in for carcassonne
Confirming Carcassone
I've added Condottiere (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/112/condottiere) at 6:30 and Ra (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/12/ra) at 9:00. Details are in the initial post.
I'm bringing out Reiner Knizia's Colossal Arena to start the night. It's a betting/hand management game where different mythical monsters are pitted against each other in battle. Each player has a hand of numbered monster cards that also have variable powers and they have to play one each round (though you might play more if you're messing with other players). You're trying to guide each round so that the monsters you bet on (either openly or secretly) stay in and other monsters get eliminated.
I'll teach it to start so all are welcome to give it a try. The box says 40-60min and the game's pretty easy to pick up so it'll be around 60min+.

Continuing on with the monster theme, I'm also bringing out King of New York. Chuck dice, beat up other monsters, stomp tanks, smash buildings and become the most famous monster in New York. The winner is either the last monster standing or the first to 20VP.
If you've played King of Tokyo you have the right idea but it has enough added & changed to make for a different playing experience (it's usually described as the "gamer version" of KOT).
Easy to learn, quick to play. Even with teaching to start it'll probably take less than an hour.

One more to end the night - I'll bring out the new game Deus again because I had so much fun playing it at the previous Chewsday Challenge. Each player works to expand their ancient (vaguely-Roman) empire across the modular board to get the most victory points. You can only do one of two actions each turn: build a structure by paying the cost & playing a card or make an offering to one of the gods by discarding cards for the god's powers. If you build a structure, you also get to trigger the effects of the card associated with it. The trick is that you can only re-trigger a card's effects if you build another structure of the same type or build a different building that specifically triggers it.
It's medium-to-heavy weight and seems a little complex to start but once you get into the game it goes fairly quick. With teaching I'd put it at 90-120min.

Could you please add my name to "kings of new york" at 8pm?
thank you!
Could I please get signed up for Colossal Arena?

I don't know if you guys still want to know general attendance in advance, but I'm planning an being there. I promised some friends we'd get together and play Eldritch Horror. There will be 4 of us planning to meet around 6:30.
Even if games are pre-filled, I like to post them in the first post so that lurkers can see what types of games are played, plus it'll give that game some exposure so people can request specific titles they've seen being played. Not necessary to give a heads up, though.
Sure thing. In that case, I will do the ususal:

Just wondering, would you ever be interested in bringing it out again in the future to teach? I'd definitely sign-up as I've been wanting to play it. Or would a teaching game with new players make it too long for Chewsday Challenge?

I would certainly be interested. I've brought it out once before a while ago. I believe we played 4p and it took about 3 hours. 2 of the 4 were new and I think the rest of us had only played it once before. Now I'm much more comfortable with the rules so teaching should be quick.
I was going to throw it on the schedule if we didn't get the full 4 showing up as I think 4p is ideal. But if people are interested I will schedule it again next time I can make it out - likely the end of the month. It is a game I'm hoping to play a lot more this year now that some expansions are out.
I'm going to bring out Video Game High School, and jump into King of New York for now...

I'll also join up with silent_rob's Deus at 9:00.
Sorry Jim yes, I copied from last week - should read 6:30
If you can make it a little earlier I will be there and set up
I'm coming but not sure what I will be bringing yet.
I'm in for Deus at 9.
Mind signing me up for Deus?
Rob, since Murray has to be ready for Carcassonne League for 8, I should be able to join in King of New York at 8.
Murray, I will be at Boston early for sure - I'll go whenever I can escape from work (earliest being 5:00) and I'll have to grab a bite to eat first, but odds are we can start before 6:30.
Please add me to Ra at 9 pm if there is room Thanks!

NOTE: if we don't get enough players, I'll bring a different option (maybe Eminent Domain or Race for the Galaxy) to fill the space (pun intended).
My friend Samantha and I would like to sign up for Conditierre. Thanks!
Sign me up for Video Game High School & King of New York please!
I spoke with Melissa and she wishes to be signed up for Colossal Arena.
As no one has signed up, please remove Star Wars. Also, please sign me up for Kings of New York. thank you :)
I'll play Condioterre and Ra. Thanks.
I also have another friend playing Condioterre as well. Thanks!
Got a little too ambitious for this week. Please remove Cosmic Encounter - I'll bring it out another week. I will stay in for Deus at 9, though.
Please add me to the list of players for Ra.
Brad and I would like to sign up for egizia. That's right, we are coming to chewsday challenge tonight!! Hurray!!
Nevermind. He just wants to wing it. See you all there.
Kind of late notice but Jay is out of Eldritch Horror. So we've got a spot available for anyone interested.
I'll play eldritch horror
I'll be at BP around 7 tonight. I'll go over the news rules for Carcassonne before the match ups so we can start our league games at 8pm sharp. 3 news rules, but very easy to learn.
in for Colossal Arena
