Due to the overwhelming success of ChewsDay Challenge we might need to limit table space in the early evening if attendance is high and the restaurant is busy. We ask that larger-sized games be planned for 7:30 and later after Boston Pizza's dinner rush when we can spill out into the dining area, if needed, and with the restaurant's permission.  Please be considerate when choosing your table area to maximize player density. Shogun is a war/euro game with elements of bluffing and auction where you control of the 5 warring states trying to gain control of Japan in the 1500's.  The core of the game is area control, but this is achieved by misdirecting your opponents with unpredictable actions and winning battles via the ominous Battle Tower - instead of rolling dice until a victor is declared, your troops along with your enemy's troops are added to a dice tower; whoever has the most troops come out the other side is the victor.  This makes for a really interesting euro game with war elements where each battle is a nail-biter that could go either way, regardless of the number of troops you may have.

We'll be playing one year (as opposed to the standard two) so we can get through it in a decent time and so everyone can learn the game.

Count me in for Shogun!

When we were cleaning up from ChewsDay Challenge last night, here are some of the additional items we found under the tables:

(1) A counter from the game of Twilight Struggle played by Brent & Ryan.

(2) A Red cube from the game of Shogun (Belongs to RTigger)

(3) A Munchkin card .

(4) A Rocket ship from Impulse - Returned to owner: me. :)
