If you would like to schedule a game. Please post in this event thread with the following information:
Name of the game, when you would like to start, The duration of the game, and the number of players it can accommodate.Due to the overwhelming success of ChewsDay Challenge we might need to limit table space in the early evening if attendance is high and the restaurant is busy. We ask that larger-sized games be planned for 7:30 and later after Boston Pizza's dinner rush when we can spill out into the dining area, if needed, and with the restaurant's permission. Please be considerate when choosing your table area to maximize player density. Thank you for helping make ChewsDay Challenge a success!
Id like to teach Samurai again. It went over well last time.
4 players.
60 minutes.
Putting out the call for Risk Legacy League night.
Can't make it. I'll be on nights, but I'm a game up so I can let one of you catch up :p
I was finally able to pick up
King of New York, the sequel to
King of Tokyo.
King of New York adds numerous layers and is considered more of a "gamer's game" than
KoT - so it's not as light as the original. In it, you're still a giant monster trying to conquer a city (that would be New York) and you still lose the game by losing all of your health and win by reaching 20 VPs or if you're the last monster standing. But there are more ways to lose your health and new ways to score points - all new ways, actually, because the dice have changed. Instead of either being in or out of the city (as in
KoT), you actually move around the different boroughs of New York where you'll find buildings to destroy and army units that attack you (if you roll wrong and don't destroy them, first). And instead of rolling matching sets to gain points, you either gain them by rolling stars (which add to the celebrity status of your monster) or by destroying buildings and army units (which can also gain you other benefits). Some stuff stayed the same from
KoT (the energy cubes) but there's a lot of new stuff.
The game can handle up to 6 players but things get more complicated with more than 4. So I figured I'd start with a game of 4 players at 6:30 and then teach a game of 6 players at 8:30. Everybody's welcome to give it a try - playing time on the box is 40 minutes but it might take a little longer with the new elements/rules.
(4 players, 60 minutes at 6:30 and
6 players, 60 minutes at 8:30)

You are a giant monster and you want to become King of New York! Compete against other immense creatures and destroy everything in your path. In order to win, attack your enemies, crush high-rises, buy new abilities, become a star and keep an eye on the army: the humans haven't thrown in the towel yet....

I'm in for KoNY, please!
I'll play King of NY too. At 6:30
Me too Rob!
I will bring out/teach/run Brass at 7:30. It is considered one of Martin Wallace's best games, and it is certainly one of my favourites. Players represent industrialists in Yorkshire at the peak of the industrial revolution. You build industries (cotton mills, coal mines, iron works etc.) and transportation routes (canals and rail lines) in order to sell your goods. Even though this is a competitive game, in some cases, there is also a forced cooperation mechanism in the game, which makes it very unique.
If you enjoy deep strategy games, you are most likely to enjoy Brass. 3-4 players and will take 3 hours to play, including teaching the game.
I will leave this game up until Monday morning at 10am. If 3 people haven't signed up by then, I will sign up for a different game.
Edit: Start time changed to 7:30.
I'd love to try Brass. Sign me up.
Please add me to the second King of New York. Thanks!
I will try King of New York at 8:30! Thanks!
in for Brass
Sign me up for Brass please. Sounds neat.
I'm going to bring and teach The Target. It plays 5-12 people, 45-120 mins. Starting at 630 and Patrick and Joran will also be playing
Des will also be playing The Target
If a spot opens up in Brass I'm in. Missed it! :(
Please sign me up for The Target at 6:30. Would love to play Samurai too...but there is not a start time. If it is starting after the target is done I would love to play!
I'd like to bring out Arcadia Quest for 7:30pm. A 4 player dungeon crawl PvE/PvP. This game is not a co-op game. :P I'm going to estimate 120 minutes, could be less. I'd like to play it with at least 3 players.
I'd be down for risk if we get another.

the only other possible is Kim. I am going to bring along The Manhattan Project as a back up plan to risk if you want in on that Tyler
Sorry guys, Samurai should be at 630.
I'm back in town. I'll sign up for Samurai at 6:30 and King of New York at 8:30.
If for some reason an opening in King of New York at 6:30 comes up, I'll take that instead of these two so I can play with Lori.
Jim
I'll sign up for the target at 630 as well please!
Sign me up for Arcadia Quest
Since a couple of people have asked me about teaching/playing Innovation. I'll bring it out for 6:30 and depending on the number of people interested it will either be a teaching session (just going over the rules and a couple of example turns) or a full learning game.
Please sign me up for the King of New York game at 8:30
I'd like to try out samurai, sign me up please
Can you put Me and JAson down for Arcadia Quest, looks fun

Woo! I was really hoping I could get a full game. :D
could you sign me up for Innovation
I'm assuming Risk is a no-go tonight. I'll probably just be staying at home.
Hey, it looks like I'll be able to get there earlier than usual again, so please add me to the list of players for The Target.
Im in for Innovation.
I broke the main post again. apparently entering my name is a curse.
All fixed. :P
Thanks Nicole.
Wendy Johnson is having difficulty with her internet and wanted me to sign her up for Samurai at 6:30!!
Sorry miles, I got held up at work later than usual so I won't be able to make it for 6:30. Will have to cancel innovation. Brass at 7:30 is still on.
