If you would like to schedule a game. Please post in this event thread with the following information:
Name of the game, when you would like to start, The duration of the game, and the number of players it can accommodate.

Due to the overwhelming success of ChewsDay Challenge we might need to limit table space in the early evening if attendance is high and the restaurant is busy. We ask that larger-sized games be planned for 7:30 and later after Boston Pizza's dinner rush when we can spill out into the dining area, if needed, and with the restaurant's permission.  Please be considerate when choosing your table area to maximize player density. Thank you for helping make ChewsDay Challenge a success!

That's fine, you probably don't even need to put it on the schedule; I just posted as a reminder to the rest of the league. If y'all want more spaces for open games, feel free to remove it.

It's no problem adding it to the first post, and I figure it's a positive to show off the variety of games played each week to newbies.   :)

I'll mark the empty spots as reserved so people know they're not open and available for signup.

In commemoration of the series ending final ride of Sons of Anarchy, I will host a game of Sons of Anarchy: Men of Mayhem at 7pm for 3 or 4 players.  The estimated playtime is 60 minutes, although I'll say 90 minutes as it'll be my first time teaching and playing it.

I would love to bring Malifaux to run a couple of demos. Each demo would be about an hour and I can start at 7pm.

Here is a brief description from their website:

Based in an alternate Earth, Malifaux uses gothic, steampunk, and victorian horror with a dose of the wild west to inject fun and depth into the magical lawlessness of a world rife with monsters, necropunks, man-machine hybrids, gunslingers, and powerhungry politicos. Actively using character-driven stories to define the world of Malifaux, seek your fortune in this fast paced and brutal 32mm tabletop miniature skirmish game. Assemble your crew and stake your claim!

Feel free to send my an email if you have any other questions prior to a demo: mike.allan.nielsen@gmail.com

Hey, yes this is for 2 players. I would be open to other people stopping by and asking questions though :). If there are more than 3 people interested in a demo I can do shorter demos of 30 mins or less so more people can check out the game.

Ok, I will teach a game of Impulse at 6:30. I Think I will restrict it to 4 players (it plays up to 6, but downtime is terrible). It should take around an hour and a half. This is the third big game from Carl Chudyk, following Glory to Rome and innovation, both excellent games. This game has some similarities, but in a mini 4X style.

Impulse is a quick-playing 4X (explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate) game set in space with the game board being composed of cards that have actions on them. Players also have cards in hand, and in addition to featuring one of ten possible actions, these cards have a color (red, yellow, blue or green) and a size (1, 2 or 3, as indicated by the number of icons on the card). Each card also has six edges, and these edges connect adjacent cards in the hex-shaped playing area.

The cards in the playing area start face down, with each player controlling a card(their Home) on a corner of this area. Each player has two transport ships in the center of his Home card and a cruiser on an edge. Cruisers are used to patrol sectors of space and destroy opposing transports, while transports let you activate sectors that you enter.

On a turn, a player adds a card to the Impulse from his hand, then (optionally) performs an action for a tech in his playing area, then (optionally) performs all the actions in the Impulse, then draws two cards and adds them to his hand. The Impulse is a line of cards shared by all players that changes turn by turn as players add cards to it and as cards fall off once it reaches maximum size. Thus, players need to feed the Impulse with actions that benefit them more than opponents, but that's easier said than done.

When you perform actions – whether from moving transports to them or using the Impulse – you can boost them by having minerals of the same color or lots of transports. Each action has a single numeral on it, e.g., "Command [1] ship for one jump" or "Build [1] cruiser at home"; when you boost an action, you increase that numeral.

Players score points by destroying enemy ships (one point per ship), by controlling edge spaces on the central card (one point per edge), and by taking other actions via cards. The first player to score 20 points wins!

Dana asked if I could bring out Among The Stars so I'll host a game of it at 8:30. For those who are unfamiliar with it, it's a sci-fi game that features card-drafting (like 7 Wonders) combined with a spacial/tile-laying element. Each card is a room/area you're building as part of a space station on the table in front of you (players make their own, separate space station to be worth the most victory points). I've also got The Ambassadors expansion that adds in...well...ambassadors along with more cards and the Expanding The Alliance expansion which adds in various promos.

Please reserve a spot for Dana. Everyone is welcome to play - I'll be teaching the rules to start. While technically it can play up to 6, I'm limiting it to 4 because even 4 takes up a sizable table space (also while I'm scheduling it for later).

(4 players, 90 minutes at 8:30)

Among the Stars takes place in a war-ravaged galaxy where the warring alien races have declared peace in the wake of a threat with the potential to destroy them all. An Alliance is established to build space stations throughout the galaxy in order to promote trade among the races, strengthen diplomatic relations, and defend against this impending threat. Each player takes the role of one of those races trying to build the greatest space station. Through card drafting, the players select locations, and use these to build their station, scoring victory points based on the placement. The construction lasts four years, and alien race with the most points at the end wins.

I'm also bringing out Games Magazine's "Game of the Year" winner Garden Dice along with its Card Expansion. It's a dice-rolling game that features set collection and tile placement. Players are gardeners sharing a communal plot of land and each person rolls dice to either get seeds, plant seeds, water seeds or harvest vegetables. Based on the placement of the tiles and the points of the crops you can create chains to water/harvest multiple seeds/veggies at the same time but other players can mooch off of your hard work, too. Finally, there are special tiles including birds and rabbits that you can use to ruin/steal crops and screw over other players - adding a nice bit of competitive "take that" to gardening. We'll also be using the Card Expansion that adds action and event cards to the game.

It's got a maximum of 4 players, is fairly easy to learn (though there's more to it than you'd expect) and everyone is welcome to give it a try.

(4 players, 60 minutes at 6:30)

I've noticed that Evolution has been brought out a few times the last while. I have really been wanting to give it a shot. Any chance that one of the lucky owners could bring it out to play earlier in the night? if not that's fine, just thought I would throw it out there...

Dale I can run it after 10 tonight or bring it next week. Let me know.

Thanks for the offer Dana, but 10 won't work for me, and I don't think I will be attending next week.
I am sure another opportunity will present itself. Thanks again!

Unfortunately I have to work late tonight so I won't be able to play Sons of Anarchy at 9:(
