Netrunner LCG interests me a fair bit.

Something I should also mention is that each of these Organized Play programs requires that players bring their own game components. So miniatures, dice, templates, etc for X-Wing; deck for Star Wars LCG and Netrunner LCG. (I'm still learning about Descent, but I think the store provides most of what is required.)

During each game, the heroes embark on quests and venture into dangerous caves, ancient ruins, dark dungeons, and cursed forests to battle monsters, earn riches, and attempt to stop the overlord from carrying out his vile plot.

With danger lurking in every shadow, combat is a necessity. For such times, Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition) uses a unique dice-based system. Players build their dice pools according to their character's abilities and weapons, and each die in the pool contributes to an attack in different ways. Surges, special symbols that appear on most dice, also let you trigger special effects to make the most of your attacks. And with the horrors awaiting you beneath the surface, you'll need every advantage you can take...

Featuring double-sided modular board pieces, countless hero and skill combinations, and an immersive story-driven campaign, Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition) transports heroes to a vibrant fantasy realm where they must stand together against an ancient evil.

Compared to the first edition of Descent: Journeys in the Dark, this game features...
...Simpler rules for determining line of sight
...Faster setup of each encounter
...Defense dice to mitigate the tendency to "math out" attacks
...Shorter quests with plenty of natural stopping points
...Cards that list necessary statistics, conditions, and effects
...A new mechanism for controlling the overlord powers
...Enhanced hero selection and creation process
...Experience system to allow for hero growth and development
...Out-of-the-box campaign system

I looked into the official rules for X wing provided by fantasy flight and as long as there are at least two game moderators for tournaments, then both can participate. I wouldn't be surprised if this rule applies to organized play for other games.

I am interested in the X-Wing and Descent organized plays.  I recently bought an X-Wing ship collection.  However, I don't own any Descent material.  I am curious as to what personal components would be needed to play it?

The details of our first X-Wing event will be posted today. Take a look at that when it comes up and then get in touch through that thread if you still have questions.

As for Descent, I'm still figuring that one out.  :)

X-Wing will be the first to get started. Then Netrunner. And then I'll focus on Descent.

I've taken a look at the Descent kit and it is very, very cool.

The Forgotten Souls expansion is a full cooperative expansion for Descent: Journeys in the Dark 2nd Edition. It supports 1 - 4 players. Basically, the Overlord player is removed. How and when monsters appear and move is controlled by the new game mechanics.

This expansion is not for retail sale. Descent players can only experience this cooperative expansion through Organized Play.

Two things are required to play Forgotten Souls:
1. A copy of the base game of Descent: Journeys in the Dark 2nd Edition.
2. An experienced player to teach the other players.

ComicReaders Downtown can provide #1.

#2 is up to you!

Forgotten Souls will debut at Prairie Game Expo on June 28, 2014. Keep an eye on the Prairie Game Expo forum for details: http://sask.games/index.php?board=110.0. Just finalizing the details with the individual who will run it.

Forgotten Souls will also be played at Chewsday Challenge and ComicReaders Downtown following Prairie Game Expo. More on that later.
