Scotland Yard
One of the players takes on the role of Mr. X. His job is to move from point to point around the map of London taking taxis, buses or subways. The detectives, the remaining players acting in concert, move around similarly in an effort to move into the same space as Mr. X. But while the criminal's mode of transportation is nearly always known, his exact location is only known intermittently throughout the game.
We'll be playing the 1980s edition from Milton Bradley, but don't let the mass market edition scare you away. This is a fantastic deduction game! It won the Spiel des Jahres in 1983. A newer version of the game by Ravensburger is still in print.
Chad will be Mr. X.
Count me in for Scotland Yard. I played the Dracula one that I've heard plays very similarly. Should be interesting. (I love deductive reasoning!)
Ignore this post, doing something different.
I'll play scotland yard and maybe after I will run quarantine a game that takes about a hour and it plays 4 people
Cory
I will be attending with Amanda. Not sure when we will show up, but I will have a bag full of games geared for a younger crowd. Thinking Spin Monkeys, Loopin Luey, Riff Raff, etc.
Course, those all work for the young at heart crowd too.
QuoteI'll play scotland yard
Scotland Yard filled up with some posts ahead of you, Cordawg. But if there is enough interest I'll run a second game immediately following the first.
I am ambassador for the evening so I will not book into a game at this moment. I will, however, bring the game INTRIGUE with me to possibly play later on when the ambassadorial duties subside.
The game can handle 5 players and takes about an hour. (I will not schedule this in the first post, as I am not sure on start time).
(https://sask.games/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fcf.geekdo-images.com%2Fimages%2Fpic182825_t.jpg&hash=cbdd8b1bda3d9daa228c2d8e658dda7beb3042b9) | This game has a reputation: a bad one, but not from a playability stand point. This pure negotiation game pits the players as Renaissance era families that are engaging in rampant nepotism. Players are seeking positions in the other families' businesses, and to further that pursuit players offer bribes. However, once accepting a bribe, the 'bought' player is under absolutely no obligation to honor the highest briber or any other verbal deal. In a word, this game is vicious. |
CAUTION: This game has been know to make people cry. :(
Interested:
1. Matt Robertson
2. Chad Boudreau
3. Tempest
4. Bricktown
5. Cordawg

I've pitched this game to a few customers-- people I know with gaming groups that like cut-throat play. Feedback has always been along the lines of "Wow, you weren't kidding".
This one is a potential relationship destroyer.
Count me in! :)
I might have to check out intrigue as well. That being said, I also picked up Ricochet Robots today, and definitely want to bring that out to a table sooner or later.
I love mean games, but Intrigue is too much for me. Have fun and stay friends!
...am sorry I'm going to miss Scotland Yard :(. Have fun and Happy Canada Day!
I'd like to try out Intrigue, sounds like my kinda game. Might need to include one of these :beer during play to drown insuing sorrow :P
...I think I might have to keep the whiskey away. It always has that way of... enhancing passions hahaha.
Ok, switching stuff around to make it so more people are playing more games earlier.
Chris will be teaching a crowd favourite: Zombicide @ 7:00 it can accommodate 6 players, about 90 mins to play
I will be teaching Quarriors @ 7:00, all expansions will likely be in play since everything is mixed together... can accommodate 4 players, about 60 mins to play
We did a little shuffling and added some additional game slots for this coming Tuesday. So go back to the first page of this post and see what is scheduled...
I'm interested in intrigue :)
Psst, Quarriors is only 4 players, and will only take 60 minutes with teaching, and Zombicide should only be 90 minutes.
With that said, Justine is signing up for Zombicide, while Christine is signing up for Quarriors.
Psst... It's fixed.
Psst... Players added to games.
Please sign me up for quarriors thank you.

Once again, two games I'd like to try that are scheduled for the same time slot. Oh well, I'll have to roll a die to see which one I should choose. OK here goes..... :d6-2. Please put me down for Zombiecide.
Please sign Becky and myself up for Zombicide. Thanks!
Scotland Yard please and thanks
Remember, it is prize draw night. If your name is picked and you are not there, you will feel like this guy.

Sign me up for Zombicide... Let's play it right this time.
Chris might have to work, but I can help set the game up and go over the rules if he can't make it.
Sign me up for Quarriors please :)

If needed Chad I can bring out my copy if there is enough interest to play more games of Scotland Yard.
Well, I'm a little late to the game but I will bring Discworld: Ankh-Morpork if anyone is interested. I went to post it for next week, and saw I'll be ambassador, so that doesn't work. Anyhow, runs with three or four, 6:30 start, will be done for 8.
I'll be around tonight, and I would play some Discworld.
Christine won't be able to make it tonight :( So it means there is at least one spot open for Quarriors
As a further incentive to those on the fence about attending tonight.
AIR CONDITIONING
oh, and Amanda and I will be there about 7:00 with a few light games.
