*** ChewsDay Challenge ***

What: The ChewsDay Challenge series of events is part of an initiative to host a public weekly game night that is welcoming to new members and is a way for people new to boardgames to experience a beginner friendly atmosphere. A opportunity for people new to designer board games or veterans of the hobby to come out, meet 'n' greet, and play some games. This is held at a great location with full food and beverage service. Come on out and try some games.
The venue is also a great place for Wargamers and Strategy Gamers to come out and play a game. There are some titles that are hard to get to the table, let's try to get them the attention they deserve at a ChewsDay Challenge. Where: North Albert St. Boston Pizza (Regina) (http://sask.games/index.php?topic=2043.0)
When: Every ChewsDay night of course, see date on this post for this particular event. Who: Anyone interested in playing boardgames. The venue is suitable for many different styles of games: (Wargames, Euro Games, Crokinole, Chess, Go, Scrabble, Backgammon, etc.) Why: Life is Short; Play Games!
Although not necessary, we urge you to post in this thread if you are coming and what games you might bring or would like to play. Prearranging some games helps get some of the harder titles to the table. Perhaps you have seen someone post about a game in THIS THREAD (http://sask.games/index.php?topic=1799.0), this might be an opportunity to get them to bring out the game and show you. If you are new to the gaming scene in the City of Regina, come on out and meet some others. Feel free to come a bit early and grab a bite to eat. See you there!!! :excited
Every ChewsDay Challenge, we will have a Game Host on site to teach a game. This is a great way for new players to experience a game in a beginner friendly environment. The Weekly Game will be set up at 6:15pm and players are urged to be there for 6:30. The feature game will start at 6:45pm. Note: A number of us go early (5ish) to grab a bite to eat, you are welcome to join us.Without further adieu, here is the Game Host of the week:

There are lots of people bringing games out to play on ChewsDay Challenge Game Nights. To help attendees maximize their gaming experience we can help schedule games into slots for planning purposes. Post in the thread if you want to schedule a game and have folks sign up in advance. There are TWO basic time slots for this. 6:30pm time slot and 8:30pm. This is the start time for these games. They will be set up earlier. If you sign up for a game, please be there at least 15 minutes prior to start or your seat may be given to someone else. This is not mandatory, casual open gaming is still very much encouraged as well. 7 Wonders lasts three ages. In each age, players receive seven cards from a particular deck, choose one of those cards, then pass the remainder to an adjacent player, as in Fairy Tale or a Magic: the Gathering booster draft. Players reveal their cards simultaneously, paying resources if needed or collecting resources or interacting with other players in various ways. (Players have individual boards with special powers on which to organize their cards, and the boards are double-sided as in Bauza's Ghost Stories.) Each player then chooses another card from the deck they were passed, and the process repeats until players have six cards in play from that age. After three ages, the game ends.
In essence 7 Wonders is a card development game along the lines of Race for the Galaxy or Dominion. Some cards have immediate effects, while others provide bonuses or upgrades later in the game. Some cards provide discounts on future purchases. Some provide military strength to overpower your neighbors and others give nothing but victory points. Unlike Magic or Fairy Tale, however, each card is played immediately after being drafted, so you'll know which cards your neighbor is receiving and how his choices might affect what you've already built up. Cards are passed left-right-left over the three ages, so you need to keep an eye on the neighbors in both directions.

I fell behind on last week's Chewsday Challenge, so let's get ahead on Feb 19th games night.
Please let me know if you are coming out, if you are bringing a game, what time slot you'd like to run it (6:30/8:30).
Hi, can you please add my sister to 7 wonders for 630 aswell. Her name is Chantal. We have both only played once.
Thanks.
Alright, I'd like to run Smallworld Tunnels, which is the name I'm giving the combination of Smallworld and Smallworld Underground, if that name doesn't already exist. (although I believe that's what it's called in the micro-expansion that came with Underground) I'd like to go for 6:30 again; it can have up to 6 people if memory serves. If there is enough interest, I could possibly run back-to-back games as well. It should be noted that Tunnels is best played if you've played Smallworld at least once, but it's still an easy enough game that if you're interested I can teach you.
Hey Tyler I'm pretty sure Kim would play small world tunnels
Cory
I am up for the combined Smallworld game.
I will be bringing out Star Trek Catan for anyone interested in paying.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/117985/star-trek-catan

Hey cordawg, are you playing with the expansions on your 7 Wonders demo?
I am defently not doing the leaders expansion but if people want I could do the cities

Depends on if we have new players, but I think we should do Cities.
Yeah, I checked it out, it's definitely called "Small World Tunnels". 6 People is probably the optimum number.
Not sure if this is the right spot, but can I please sign up for the Star Trek catan?
Thanks,
Justine

It is the right spot. You are now signed up.
Please sign me up for Star trek Catan.
Hey Cory (Cordawg), any chance of bringing along one or two of the new games you have recently bought? (I think Urbanization was one of the ones you mentioned that you were getting.)
I got that one also suburbia Shane and justice played that at Wokbox with me I'll bring it it plays for in about a hour very simple game and I could run it after 7 wonders also legendary marvel deck building game too I know Colin would like to try it too
If work schedule allows, Becky and I will be there tonight.
If someone wouldn't mind adding munchkin to an 830 sign up but then fill it with me, and Justine, Justin, Robin and Wes that would be appreciated
I won't be able to attend until after 7pm so I'm not going to be able to make 7 Wonders. I'll bring something light.
I'm sorry but both my sister (Chantal) and I are unable to come due to a stomach bug. We were both signed up for 7 Wonders. Sorry, Nicole
If its not too late to sign up, Avens and I would both like to try the Smallworld Tunnels game.
Thanks,
Tim.
