*** ChewsDay Challenge ***
(https://sask.games/gallery/1_11_09_12_10_24_41.gif)
What: The ChewsDay Challenge series of events is part of an initiative to host a public weekly game night that is welcoming to new members and is a way for people new to boardgames to experience a beginner friendly atmosphere. A opportunity for people new to designer board games or veterans of the hobby to come out, meet 'n' greet, and play some games. This is held at a great location with full food and beverage service. Come on out and try some games.
The venue is also a great place for Wargamers and Strategy Gamers to come out and play a game. There are some titles that are hard to get to the table, let's try to get them the attention they deserve at a ChewsDay Challenge. Where: North Albert St. Boston Pizza (Regina) (http://sask.games/index.php?topic=2043.0)
When: Every ChewsDay night of course, see date on this post for this particular event. Who: Anyone interested in playing boardgames. The venue is suitable for many different styles of games: (Wargames, Euro Games, Crokinole, Chess, Go, Scrabble, Backgammon, etc.) Why: Life is Short; Play Games!
Although not necessary, we urge you to post in this thread if you are coming and what games you might bring or would like to play. Prearranging some games helps get some of the harder titles to the table. Perhaps you have seen someone post about a game in THIS THREAD (http://sask.games/index.php?topic=1799.0), this might be an opportunity to get them to bring out the game and show you. If you are new to the gaming scene in the City of Regina, come on out and meet some others. Feel free to come a bit early and grab a bite to eat. See you there!!! :excited
Every ChewsDay Challenge, we will have a Game Host on site to teach a game. This is a great way for new players to experience a game in a beginner friendly environment. The Weekly Game will be set up at 6:15pm and players are urged to be there for 6:30. The feature game will start at 6:45pm. Note: A number of us go early (5ish) to grab a bite to eat, you are welcome to join us.Without further adieu, here is the Game Host of the week:

There are lots of people bringing games out to play on ChewsDay Challenge Game Nights. To help attendees maximize their gaming experience we can help schedule games into slots for planning purposes. Post in the thread if you want to schedule a game and have folks sign up in advance. There are TWO basic time slots for this. 6:30pm time slot and 8:30pm. This is the start time for these games. They will be set up earlier. If you sign up for a game, please be there at least 15 minutes prior to start or your seat may be given to someone else. This is not mandatory, casual open gaming is still very much encouraged as well. Whether you wish to plan your game night or just show up and play it by ear, game on...***** FEATURE GAME TIME SLOT (6:30pm Start) *****GAME: Carson City

The game is played in 4 rounds and in each one of them the players choose a character (there are 7 available) that gives certain advantages, after that cowboys are placed on action fields on the board to build Carson city. Players can claim ground, erect special buildings, houses or construct roads. When there are several players on 1 action field, a duel is fought.
This is a bit more complex than the others I have had out to this event, it plays up to 5 in about 2 hours.
It's Twilight Struggle league night! Who's in?
Whats Twilight struggle?
If twilight is unavailable, sign me up for Carson..sounds fun
Twilight Struggle is a great 2 player Cold War game. Info: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/12333/twilight-struggle
League info: http://sask.games/index.php?topic=2284.0
I'm in for twighlight league night
Cory
Colin, I would be grateful if you put me down for Carson City. :8)
Put me down for Carson City, and prepare to lose yer stetson!
I'm in for Twilight Struggle
you know, one day I won't have hockey on a Tuesday and I'll be able to come and partake.
>:(
Put me in for some Cold War goodness too...
I will likely bring out Spin Monkeys to try out.
I think it will be a nice light diversion after the Twilight Struggle/Carson City games set for earlier.
Sorry gents, can't make this date for Twilight Struggle. Next month if at all possible.
Ian
I'm pretty sure I've got Tuesdays locked down now, so I should be coming. I can confirm with absolute certainty by Friday, but it shouldn't be an issue. In any case, I'd love to actually run a game of Talisman if possible, since I haven't played it in months now. Since it can be a longer game, I'd like to start right around 6:30 if enough people are interested. For those who haven't played it, Talisman is a board game with rpg elements. Essentially you go around the board trying to level up and get good magic, items and followers until you're strong enough to face the harder challenges on the inside layers of the boards and eventually reach the center of the board to get the Crown of Command and eliminate your competition. I think if I were to teach it to new players, I'd also implement some of the quickplay rules.
Scratch that, I think I'll save the epic game for a different time. I could certainly host a game of Smallworld: Underground at 6:30 if people are interested.
Lol well I would like to try talisman but i got twighlight struggle league this tuesday o well have fun
Kent will also be there for Twilight Struggle. I will have a bye this week.
So the Games will be:
Dana vs Kent
Matt vs Corey
If there is room Carson City for me as well... Otherwise I will bring a game to teach and play Factory Manager or Saint Petersburg
So I guess is there room? or do I start a thread for play?
Carson City is booked as of now, if someone doesn't make it you will be the first on in Guy.
Tempest, would you consider running Smallworld at 8 so Robin and I could play?
Those should b awesome matchups

Hey Cory, prepare to get a bad case of Frostbite from the COLD war. :)
Hey!
I'm wondering are there any other games (other then Twilight and Carson) that I can sign up for?
Thanks.
Becky
Tempest:
Did you want to officially schedule Smallworld and take signups?
If so what time?

I've bullied Logan into bring out King of Tokyo(7pm) & T'zolkien (8pm). I will put sign ups asap.
I think I might try and schedule two games back-to-back, Smallworld: Underground at 6:30 and regular Smallworld at 8:30 if possible. But yeah, I'll take signups and everything.

Hi Becky! Keep in mind that a lot of games are played at each event that are not pre-scheduled. Even if you don't see a game you want to register for ahead of time, don't be afraid to see what's available at the time, and dive right in.
Okay, we have lots of games up now.
6:30: Carson City (1 spot open)
6:30: Small World Underground
7:00: Kings of Tokyo
8:00: T'Zolkien
8:30: Small World
Thanks. Think may just turn up and see what takes my fancy. See you guys then
Could you add my friend Justine Diewold to the Carson City sign up. And then put me and her in for the 830 small world please.

My fault--I missed Guy's earlier post.
Nope thats ok looks like there is enough games now :-)
Please sign me up for Small World: Underground and Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar too. Hopefully they'll be time to finish the first before the second starts.
Thanks
I definitely want to play Carson City (and I'm already registered for it). But in the off chance it finishes up a bit early, or if I can persuade Logan and his Tzolk'in group to start late, I would like to be considered as a candidate for that game too.
One more for King of Tokyo here, if you please!
Ill play King of Tokyo and tzolkin
Mark me down for 7:00 King of Tokyo please.
Z
Hey, sorry for the late reply. I would like to be in for King of Tokyo if there is still space. Farron would like to be in as well. Thank you!
I have room for only 1 more. Sorry guys
