*** ChewsDay Challenge ***
(https://sask.games/gallery/1_11_09_12_10_24_41.gif)
What: The ChewsDay Challenge series of events is part of an initiative to host a public weekly game night that is welcoming to new members and is a way for people new to boardgames to experience a beginner friendly atmosphere. A opportunity for people new to designer board games or veterans of the hobby to come out, meet 'n' greet, and play some games. This is held at a great location with full food and beverage service. Come on out and try some games.
The venue is also a great place for Wargamers and Strategy Gamers to come out and play a game. There are some titles that are hard to get to the table, let's try to get them the attention they deserve at a ChewsDay Challenge. Where: North Albert St. Boston Pizza (Regina) (http://sask.games/index.php?topic=2043.0)
When: Every ChewsDay night of course, see date on this post for this particular event. Who: Anyone interested in playing boardgames. The venue is suitable for many different styles of games: (Wargames, Euro Games, Crokinole, Chess, Go, Scrabble, Backgammon, etc.) Why: Life is Short; Play Games!
Although not necessary, we urge you to post in this thread if you are coming and what games you might bring or would like to play. Prearranging some games helps get some of the harder titles to the table. Perhaps you have seen someone post about a game in THIS THREAD (http://sask.games/index.php?topic=1799.0), this might be an opportunity to get them to bring out the game and show you. If you are new to the gaming scene in the City of Regina, come on out and meet some others. Feel free to come a bit early and grab a bite to eat. See you there!!! :excited
Every ChewsDay Challenge, we will have a Game Host on site to teach a game. This is a great way for new players to experience a game in a beginner friendly environment. The Weekly Game will be set up at 6:15pm and players are urged to be there for 6:30. The feature game will start at 6:45pm. Note: A number of us go early (5ish) to grab a bite to eat, you are welcome to join us.Without further adieu, here is the Game Host of the week:

Count me in for Last day on Earth-Jeff
I'm 95% sure I can make it earlier this Tuesday, so count me in for the feature game. I'll also be bringing Munchkin Quest, and either Formula D or more likely Smallworld. (Formula D took too long last time I think)
Put me down for the feature game please
I will be bringing the Football game "1st & Goal". Looking for another player for this. Read through the rules and would like to get a "learning" game in.

Hey Tempest, when you know forsure if your showing let us know.
In for 1st and goal. I will also bring Strasbourg and likely run it after Dana's main demo.
Strasbourg is an auction based game by Stephan Feld. Takes 60-90 and plays up to 5.

Me and Kathy will be in for Strasbourg!
Pretty sure Alex will be in for Strasbourg too.....need to check on that for sure though.
I'd like to watch 1st & Goal. If it's football I'm sure I'll be interested. I'll confirm my attendance as soon as I get it sorted out.

Tyler
If you bring it you know that I'll be interested in playing Munchkin Quest. Sign me up if you are going to be there & going to bring it. Thanks.
Mac
Yeah, I don't want to bring my personal stuff on here, but long story short I'm on the job hunt, so I'll be there unless I immediately find a job and start that evening. It's pretty safe to assume that won't be an issue; I'll immediately post here if that changes though.
Hi Colin! Please put me down for Strasbourg if there is still a slot available.
OK, we have 5 for Strasbourg
Colin
Matt
Dana
Kathy
Barry or Alex
Pretty sure Alex is coming, but it will depend on his homework load that week.
We will start once Dana is done with the feature game of Last Night on Earth.
Hey guys. Cory heistad here I will b coming and I will bring starting to b one of my favorite games areoplanes aviation accendent it plays in about 2 hours and can play up to 5
Cory, I would also like to play Aeroplanes, although there is a chance that I will be part of the Strasbourg group (there is already one too many of us registered to play, but Alex may not be able to be there). If I am in on that game it will start right after the feature game ends (around 8:30pm). If I can't get in on it, we could start your game anytime. I imagine our options will be clarified closer to the game day.
Barry if u r going to games day I'm sure we can get a game in if u r in strasbourg game

Hi Cory
Depending when you get started & I may be in another game I would like to give this game a try. If Tyler doesn't make it & I'm not in another game when you start, save me a spot. Thanks.
Games, games everywhere! I feel like a kid in a candy shop. So many choices & so little time.
I just want to take a second to thank everyone that has come out to the past few Chewsday Challenge events. I've been having a great time & I've enjoyed meeting everyone. It has been a real pleasure. I find myself impatiently waiting for Tuesday night to come. I hope everyone is enjoying it as much as I am. See you on Tuesday.
Mac
It's been a blast! It's definitely filled in my weekly gaming event since I stopped playing magic. Good to be out and socializing and playing new games. I hope we can keep this running for quite some time!
Is that last spot available for Last Night on Earth? If so please pencil me in.
Z
As per usual, I will likely be there shortly after 5pm to grab a bite before the gaming begins if anyone cares to join me.
See you tonight!
Sorry guys won't b able to make it tonight Hope to make it next week
Count me in for the early crowd.
Another successful ChewsDay Challenge event brings our October Event list to a close. Look for more fun & frivolity in November. A brief recap...
Attendance: 22
Games Played: 1st & Goal, Lords of Waterdeep, Forbidden Island, Last Night on Earth, Strasbourg, Heroes of the World, Munchkin Quest, and Martian Dice.
Thanks to everyone for making our first month a success. It is great to see people playing games. Hearing people laughing and having fun while playing games is Bonus.
Life is Short; Play Games!
Lessons Learned:
Last Night on Earth is awesome.
Don't give Billy (or me) the sledgehammer.
If I'm going to demo a game, I should really memorize the rules first.
Munchkin quest needs quick reminder cards, like in Smallworld.
Shari and I played Mondo as well (not sure if you have a master list)...
